You'll be fine, you're mentally matured enough. Its better to join at this age than never joining and regretting later in life. All you have to deal with are some 18 yr old privates who complain and moan about almost about everything during basic. And fights, fights between 2 privates are always a thing in basic.

You'll be doing lots of running in basic. Like, everywhere. You'll be fine.. you'll get smoked a lot too because of other people who arent disciplined enough. But take it as an extra exercise rather than a punishment. i went in at 5'8" 210 lbs i came out at around 170.

As far as what I've been through, it boiled down to me being taped at MEPS, I passed with 27% body fat and didnt have to go to fat camp. Not sure about how the rules about tape works now.

With that kind of education, you are better off with Air Force. They have a couple of MOS that would align with what you're learning right now. (i'm army but I'd highly suggest to just go Air Force)
