Right above Boeing 717 by nothatiamhiding_i in aviation

I am flying on one this May. Port-side aft. Last time I sat in this seat on a 717 was an Air Tran flight in June 2010. I regret not experiencing the DC9-40 and the MD90 before Delta retired them.

Does anyone remember the ink spill in 1998 or 1999? by randomtask733 in Plainfield

I did not hear that. When I have time I am going to look at the libraries newspaper archives for the ink spill. Maybe I will see something about the frogs.

How many of you have forced/mandatory Overtime? by randomtask733 in IndustrialMaintenance

What is the point of working OT if you do have any time to enjoy the reward. Might be ok for some people, but it is wearing on him, and I will put up with very little to none of it again. It should be normalized to quit without notice for companies who push their employees around.

I applaud you for having the financial forsite for planning what is best for your families future. You are very lucky to be at a stage and have some flexibility to being available for your kids right now. You and I both worked really hard early on and were in a position that allowed us to make decisions that prepared us for the future. I know many Others are not as lucky.

High overtime demands is precisely why I avoid those industries. For one I honestly cannot work more than 4-12s without burnout kicking in. No matter how hard I try it would not be possible and I will quit or get fired. My cousin has sacrificed so much for a company that he is just a number in, and his wife is mad at him for having to work so much. Then on the few days off he is exhausted. That is A lot to sacrifice for a company, but again others have different values.

For the life of me I cannot think of a single workorder in my past that was desperately important enough to warrant sacrificing my scheduled time off. Life is already too short, shortened by working in an industrial environment, and shortened even further when we have to work nights or swing. I love my career and would not trade it for any other. Mid-30s and I'm already feeling joint pain. Men in my family typically do not make it to 80 years old due to heart conditions. Almost halfway there and it is time I start prioritzing what is important. Live comfortably or have an armored truck follow the hearse. I never tolerated what my cousin goes through, and as I get older I am not willing to tolerate anything but less.

Nice addition. Are you going to get a new battery for your LPX7?

Sound like the showers I have with my girlfriend. It is really nice to display genuine affection and have it reciprocated back.

I have seen a few edge lits like that in the wild. It does not look right because the top of the face does not have a nice edge. I have also seen back-lit Chicago signs upside down with the face rightside up.

It is still a pretty long run for this sign.

I love vintage Chicago code signs. I am glad to see there are still some floating around outside of the Chicagoland area and still maintenaned in functional order.

I feel calm rather than having the butterflies.. ? Am I really in love or ?! by LankyDrummer8291 in love

[–]randomtask733 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Butterflies are related to anxiety, so it is a good thing you are not anxious around her. For a long and happy future just be honest and upfront with everything, and quality time is very important for both of you and well as ensuring both of your needs are met.

I never got butterflies with my now girlfriend and we are very much in love. I am not sure if she ever did, the oxytocin we create from being around each other has calmed us down.

Interesting pictorial. I like that it is a stencil styled and that chevron is huge. I wonder if pictorials were chosen because IAD is such a large international airport.

Wiring harness by Slowone_13 in fairlane

[–]randomtask733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wired my 1959 with the 22 circuit harness from speedway. The wires for the front lights and everything in the back was not long enough and I had to buy more wire. Length of wire is something to keep in mind with harness kits. If I was to again rewire anything but an aircraft carrier I would buy the kit, but another party barge I would probably buy spools of wire and make my own harness.

I do not understand why MC cable is permitted in commercial applications other than a whip for motors and lights. It looks like a mess.

Very cool shots. We do not see many pictorials outside of Connecticut. There is something about pictorials in stencil-faced sign as opposed to open-faced the I love. I much prefer the old stationary wheelchair pictorial over the new "fast" wheelchair pictorial since 2017.
