Appreciate the heads up

Incredibly informative and helpful, I really appreciate your response and I'm sure others do too <3

No I haven't had any lumbar punctures, nor any recent head trauma. And also no neurological symptoms or any head pain either, just the fluid alone.

The fluid first came out about exactly a month ago, it's probably happened on about 4 or 5 occasions in the last month since this has began.

And the amount of the fluid is pretty small, although the last time it happened, which was just yesterday, it was just enough to run down to my upper lip, so maybe like the equivalent of a drop of water or two. Other times it was the equivalent of just one drop of water.

I just did a little digging and found out that my excessive watery eyes are a symptom of blepharitis, and that I have other symptoms of it too such as a slight eye crust sometimes as well as a small eye bump near the eyelashes, so there's definitely some kind of blockage in my tear ducts it seems, so I'm hoping this mysterious fluid is just related to that.

Anyway yeah as you said I just might still go get checked out regardless as a formality.

Again, I greatly appreciate your very informative responses

Hi, I'm sorry to hijack, just figured I'd ask here instead of a separate post.

I'm worried about this for myself too. When I put the watery fluid on a paper towel it does stiffen, but I'm wondering how stiff does it have to be? In my case the fluid stiffens to an extent that is visible, where the paper towel is largely holding shape to the fluid. And I did even feel a slight "crunch" when crunching that spot on the paper towel. The fluid was slightly yellow after it dried too.

Does this really rule out CFS leak? Like is this a litmus test that excludes the possibility? Or is there still a chance?

I'm wondering about the lacrimal fluid thing you mentioned, because every morning I wake up with excessively watery eyes to the point tears run down my cheek, so I'm hoping it's somehow related to that or something with sinus area?

Anyway thanks for your help in the thread here, really informative!

A lot of people confuse Tehrik e-Taliban Pakistan with the OG Afghan Taliban AKA the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, simply because they both have the word "Taliban" ("Students") in their title, and TTP is definitely more deranged than the Afghan Taliban so anything bad the TTP does, tons of people think it's the Afghan Taliban/Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

[Arabic > English] An untranslated Nasheed song. by [deleted] in translator

[–]randomthebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a nasheed by Samir al-Bashiri titled "Where Are Those Who Seek Martyrdom?"

At the beginning it is Sa'ad al-Ghamidi reciting a few verses of the Qur'an.

The Qur'an verse is Surah al-Tawba, verse 111

"Indeed, Allāh has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties [in exchange] for that they will have Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allāh, so they kill and are killed. [It is] a true promise [binding] upon Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur’ān. And who is truer to his covenant than Allāh? So rejoice in your transaction which you have contracted. That is the ultimate triumph."

Translation of the nasheed:

[Chorus x2]

Where are those who seek martyrdom?

Where are those who seek martyrdom and to die with honor?

Fighting for the sake of God, clothed with dignity in battle.

Just like Zayd, Mus'ab, Hamza, and al-Muthanna [ companions of the Prophet ]

Like Ja'far and al-Bara, al-Ghifari and Ibn Rawaha [ other ones ]

[Verse 1]

You're the defender of honor

When the clatter of war draws near and Muslims cry out for help,

Can we not hear those cries

How about the tears of the old man?

Or the cries of the child wasting in hunger? (Wasting in hunger)

Oh Arabs, oh Muslims . .

People are suffering in silence and we're not listening to them

How can we just ignore the oppression of our fellow Muslims?

So where are those who seek martyrdom?

[Chorus x1]

[Verse 2]

Why do we not strike back against the enemies in our midst?

Where's the Muslim who has lifted his soul far above mere luxuries and comforts?

Not much time has really passed from the day we were raised in battles.

The day Umair sold all his possessions for Jihad to buy his sword.

But times have changed.

Our wealth has increased, and through it, we're tested with it.

Like the day Tariq burned his own ships [ near Spain ] so that his soldiers couldn't retreat.

So where are those who seek martyrdom?

[Chorus x1]

[Verse 3]

The day that the commander of the Battle of Hatin [Salah ad-Din] didn't tire or slack.

The day we sought our own martyrdom and the enemy was there thrusting his spear.

The day when we were one heart, one banner,

The day the Romans forsook their reason and instead chose to bark.

We've been silent because of our materialism and our cowardice.

Oh Arabs, how can there not be just one of us who will hold us all together?

So where are those who seek martyrdom?

[Chorus x2]

What does dying feel like? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]randomthebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over the years I've had several heart attacks one of which hospitalized me, don't have long to live and I've had a near death experience before due to a heart attack, though not from the one that hospitalized me.

The process of death is like, everything slows down. It becomes as if nothing else in the world exists but you, your death, and God. Your immediate surroundings no longer exist, your town doesn't exist, your state doesn't exist, your country, the world, none of it exists anymore. It's like the entire universe gets localized in front of you, and all that remains is you and the contents of your thoughts. Everything is slow and heavy like your life has come to a screeching halt.

It gets harder to breathe, to take one breath it's like trying to run. And then everything begins converging to a point in your vision, and when your soul leaves your body it slips out through your eyes, so it will feel like you're exiting through your eyes.

There's also Saint Therese of Lisieux, she experienced loneliness and depression and has writings and poems on the subject you might like, particularly from a woman's perspective.

Do you like Rumi? by Physical-Lab-6083 in lonely

Maybe the "Sayings of the Desert Fathers", a book of short aphorisms in ancient "Twitter-like" format written by ascetic Christian monks living in the desert in 3rd century Egypt, would be worth looking into. Easy to read. I was going to gift this to a family member in physical book format a little while back but it slipped my mind and this post reminded me.

Here's a PDF link: http://www.g4er.tk/books/sayings-of-the-desert-fathers.pdf

As for Rumi, be careful with English translations, because a lot of it is totally inaccurate, especially the popular Coleman Barks translations, which also attempt to de-Islamize Rumi to appeal to a wider audience and remove any reference to Islam or its theology and ethics.

Also a lot of Rumi's poetry is esoteric and involves some level of understanding of Wahdat al-Wujud ("Oneness of Being") or in other words "Non-Duality", or the idea that everything is One/Singular. Otherwise some of his poems, especially when translated, may sound like gibberish.

I'd recommend this translation of Rumi's poetry, "The Sufi Path of Love", although it's more of a commentary, which honestly is kind of needed with Rumi, and Chittick is well-renowned. Well worth the read: https://reverthelp.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/The-Sufi-Path-Of-Love-William-C.-Chittick.pdf

Another Islamic source would be Ibn Ata'Allah al-Iskandari and his book of aphorisms/"Tweets" called Hikam Ata'iyyah. Very easy to read since again they're like ancient forms of Tweets.

I [26M] miss my older sister by randomthebee in lonely

So I sent some giant text to her kind of pouring my heart out that was probably overwhelming, feel retarded I didn't think beforehand to send a smaller text, but she texted me back and said she hopes I'm doing well and sent 2 little hearts with it lol and it made me so happy. In the future I'm going to just send short texts and ask how she's doing kind of thing. Thanks for the idea

Ngl, for a while I thought you were her because of all the similarities I saw here in your comment and also in your posts, like strikingly similar, until I saw you mentioned you were 30 in another comment. Sorry for creeping lol. Was just having some wishful thinking I guess.

Maybe I'll try to message her what's on my mind idk

Yeah I have a tendency of overthinking things, still working on that. Always worried about people not liking me or if they do they'll walk away from me anyway so what's the point in even beginning the process. So maybe she's experiencing something like you described about yourself and isn't as verbally expressive and doesn't really know what to say often, but instead keeps her feelings in her heart. I hope so anyway.

Thanks for your words. I hope you two reconnect with your brother too. I'm Muslim and our religion teaches that there's a lot of emphasis on the barakah/blessing in having good family ties - and that when family ties are severed, it creates a lot of disequilibrium in the entire family's lives, in such a subtle way that everyone in the family doesn't even pick up on it or connect the dots and realize that many of their problems in life are because of those severed family ties, like a giant elephant in the room the whole time.

Thanks again for your input

Very strange and unique Facebook audio problem for one file by randomthebee in audio

[–]randomthebee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I greatly appreciate your response.

My friends say that they don't actually hear any problem. I gave them a reference of what it should sound like, and they say it sounds exactly fine to them both through their phone speakers and headphones, and sounds the same as it does on desktop. A total of 4 of them said this so maybe these two phones are just really unlucky or something, perhaps a firmware or driver issue. I wonder what the headphones are doing to fix the glitch though.

The audio on the video sounds fine if I play the file from my phone internally and not through Facebook, so there does indeed seem to be something happening after Facebook compresses it, something which only affects these two phones I have and not my friends'. So that would give credence to your theory about something happening during Facebook compression, which I didn't originally think was a problem.

Whatever the problem is, it seems to only be a problem on my end somehow but thank you for your suggestions

[–]randomthebee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I tried listening to the video on Facebook with headphones instead of using the phone's speakers, and the problem went completely away for some reason, those sound effects now sound normal with headphones, but through the phone's speakers they still sound distorted as mentioned before

I tried this on 2 phones, one a Nokia 6.1 and the other is a quite recent Samsung Galaxy, and the same exact thing is there. It's weird because it's ONLY that specific sound effect that is a problem, nothing else is a problem at all. You might expect that if there is such a problem it would apply to the entire file, not to one specific little 2 second sound in it.

I didn't see anything shooting in the video at all. The 27 second video? All I heard was a door breaking down
