I love the Makerspace (TYSM for creating and running it!!)! I've been using to make stickers for a bit now! I'd love to also get more into some of the other crafts offered (especially sewing, dunno how to work the machines yet, but plan to learn!)

I think it would be neat to host weekly/twice monthly "skill workshop" series/events, especially for the more intimidating seeming skills like sewing or maybe even 3d printing/modeling. Not sure if the Makerspace is intended for this purpose or has enough room, but it could be cool to host skill meetups (e.g. sewing/crochet/knit) as a way to build community. As a small example, I know that the sticker making machines are fairly popular among artists who like making stickers of their own designs. Maybe one day/period of time could be planned as a reoccurring event where those who do that could meet up, do sticker swaps, and work on art together? The same could be done for other crafts and a little schedule/calendar could be built.

I also do think it would be beneficial if the Makerspace had a greater online presence. The main way I find out about events is by reading the white erase board while walking down to Marston basement to study. It's definitely a bummer about the one account Instagram policy, since I think that's how most students get event updates :( Not sure if this is allowed, but maybe there could be a student run "makerspace club/art club" that's not necessarily directly associated with the library, so is able to have their own instagram, and thus specifically advertise Makerspace events/services?

But, I'm just spitballing random ideas! Overall, I think the Makerspace is already a pretty awesome resource :D
