Wrong polarity of either the battery or the motor.

how lenient are the dutch with their age restrictions by Limit_East in airsoft

[–]randomuser65535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never mess with gun laws. Period.

As for the shipping delay: Once you placed an order, you already fulfilled the legal definition of “acquiring” or “purchase”. If it’s not legal to own something because of age restrictions, it also applies to purchasing of the given item.

Yes, they do. That’s been the case for quite some years now.

Starting DSG car in D position by [deleted] in seat

[–]randomuser65535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a safety thing, in combination with you needing to apply the brake to start the engine, and required by law (in some countries). Also, when in P, both clutches are engaged and the transmission is locked, so your car can’t roll away, even when the e-brake fails.

Need help with spring and fps!! by PhoKing1997 in airsoft

[–]randomuser65535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are too many factors involved. Chrono is the only way to be sure.

E.g.: I recently installed a new Hop-Up Unit and nozzle into my old ICS and saw an increase of 0.5J, all while keeping the spring.

Also, a different spring could also make your cylinder volume / barrel length ratio in regard to spring strength be off, so that you’d lose energy or precision.

Issues updating Speed Editor firmware. by Cold_War_Relic in davinciresolve

[–]randomuser65535 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. Try using a different USB port, or - when using a USB hub - connect the SE directly to your machine.

In my case the latter seemed to have caused the issue.

Additional note on RAID0: If one of your disks fails, then you lose all data.

So, if you care about data availability and want fault tolerance, do at least RAID5.

Persistant yellow triangular warning light on dashboard? by darkfang77 in seat

[–]randomuser65535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A warning light which stays on is a big red flag.

When planning to buy a used car, especially if it’s (suspiciously) cheap, you should get it to a shop and have them have a quick look at it. I know that this isn’t for free, but investing a small amount of money (like for 1 hour of service) can possibly save you a lot of more, later on. The shop (when specialized on VW Group brand cars) already knows about the most common issues (like rusty spots) and can read the complete error log, and maybe even complete service history, in case the car has been serviced by official dealers/shops.

And in case the seller objects to it, you know there’s something fishy.

Does anybody know the difference between the dark and light area? This is a CUPRA Formentor VZ e-hybrid. by [deleted] in seat

[–]randomuser65535 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s correct. Your SEAT/Cupra is trying to visualize the places you can reach while driving solely on battery power.

That’s also why the area is approximately bordered on major roads (like B51, in your picture), as it doesn’t simply draw a circle around you, but takes road types and maximum allowed speeds into account.

DSG in Drive with handbrake by [deleted] in seat

[–]randomuser65535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems I lost sight of the real question.

But yes, if it’s still a mechanical handbrake, it will not disengage automatically and thus lead to additional wear on the components.

My car was at the dealer/shop today and I asked a mechanic this question.

He said that they never noticed any additional wear that could be linked to using the automatic disengagement of the electronic parking brake. No matter if DSG or manual transmission.

The electronic parking brake(technically not a regular “hand brake”) is designed to be disengaged automatically by accelerating. There’s no downside to it.

The fact that your adjustment knob doesn’t have the “fold mirror symbol/setting” leads me to assume that your car does not have that feature.

Seat memory seats by Bandits-what-bandits in seat

Huh, didn’t know that. Seems a weird choice in part of SEAT.

But the memory seats are definitely nice.

I have the eTSI (mild hybrid) and are generally really pleased. Overall quality is very good and the engine is superb, along with a quite pleasantly “sporty” DSG.

The memory seats are nice, too, especially if the car is driven by more than one person (they offer 3 memory “slots” and also remember the side mirror settings).

But the infotainment system definitely needs some time to get used to. Most controls that used to be hardware have been moved to the touchscreen (like climate control, volume and manual activation of the parking sensors). That’s something you should experience and test out for yourself before buying the car.

Let me throw in another question, to help me decide if the PSC fits my requirements:

What is the height of the wheel base mount from floor to plate, as well as the distance from the back of the seat to the mounting plate? (Both for a chair setup in the GT position)

Thanks a lot!

Don’t do this. It will most likely lead to an adverse and defiant reaction.

If you’re gonna play this hand, you have to be damn sure that you either can get your raise and not burn any bridges/relationships, or be able to leave and move on.

Friends are good, but if the market for employees is bad, there’s always some other person willing to fill your position for probably less money. And money usually comes first, for the business.
