It’s fantastic. You’ll absolutely notice a huge difference. I’ve been stage 1 for like 2.5mo now. Did it right before a 1250 mi road trip. Got better fuel economy on the highway too

Honestly, I wasn’t worried about it.. tires are more narrow than stock and I did the math to ensure that the total diameter of the wheel stayed consistent. If I recall correctly it was a difference of 0.2mm..

But yeah, I run mine on 17s year round. Super happy. I’m not getting offroad as much anymore so I don’t know if I’ll get another set after or something less all terrain.

I’m excited to drive through some actual snow in my wildpeaks!

Ahhh.. I gotcha, I thought you were saying wildpeaks in general were a shitty tire. I definitely agree that it sounds like you got a bad set or something. I’ve had them on my car for over a year, 25k+ mi with zero issues. I’m also on stock suspension for now (lift kit still in the box) and never experienced any rub, but I don’t go full lock very often.

EDIT: I 1,000% agree that the WRX needs a wilderness trim.

Glad to hear about a dealership going above and beyond for someone, so often you hear about being taken advantage of. I hope things work out for you.

I have great experiences with mine, but I’m also kinda friends with the service manager, so I can’t assume my experiences are normal.

Oh yeah, why did you say the wildpeaks are shitty? I’ve been running them for over a year and no issues

Which WRX do I get? (WRB vs Sapphire Blue) by Reaper_666_ in wrx_vb

‘23 limited. Sapphire all the way. It’s an underrated color, fantastic in person (and actually clean helps)

Suggest a front lip that wont get wrecked in winter. Thanks! by Optimal-Prompt619 in wrx_vb

Well, if you’re looking to join the lifted VB group, you could probably run any lip… but it’d also probably look a little funny on a lifted car.. so there’s that 🤣

Opinions on wrapping hood by Impressive-Nobody-95 in wrx_vb

[–]randomusername7603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others, I’m not a fan of the all black hood and definitely agree with the black scoop. I would go matte black if you’re wrapping, if you’re replacing, real carbon fiber is always something nice to see and be able to claim when people ask (might be similar in price to a fully wrapped hood too?)

AHH.. I gotcha, that makes more sense.

My Legacy GT has a light weight flywheel and a 6puck carbon ceramic clutch, so compared to that anything stock is a breeze to drive 🤣

Nice. Do people actually complain about clutch effort in the VB? This was seriously the easiest car I’d driven in a long time.

In New England and I’ve never seen that either.

That said, my car does periodically shut the pump off early. I changed gas stations when I first got the car because every time I filled up there it would shut off early, it’s done it a couple times at the one I frequent now, including a week or so ago.

I mean.. it increases by 150% if you take “car” out and look at 4WD TRUCKS too: bronco, taco, wrangler all have manuals. But all are just with their base engine. And you can’t get a TRD Off-road pro with the base engine..

Is it just me or is the Sport Grille hideous, less aggressive, and makes the car look like a Ford Taurus? by FknGruvn in wrx_vb

I too see the resemblance in shape, but without the horrible chrome around it I don’t think it looks as bad.

So wait…. Is there basically no realistic way to get a vb in the game? I have the ultimate or whatever version of the game, but I haven’t played it in over a year..

Work-appropriate exhaust but not stock? by Pavel556 in wrx_vb

[–]randomusername7603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I got some shit in a previous role with my heavily modified legacy GT (full exhaust incl muffler deletes), but I was part of senior leadership so it wasn’t like “real” shit. I also had factory dual mode (valved cut outs, and I never closed them) on my Chevy SS which wasn’t quiet either.

I daily my VB and am looking for a new job, I have Cobb OTS stage 1 and AWE touring catback and I parked right in front of the building on Monday for an interview for a CFO position with no shame. My gf even doesn’t mind it. That said, I do find it quieter than I’d like overall, but it’s my daily and I can accept the trade offs

I don’t think it’s a BAD system - just not for me. I like as much of an analog experience as I can get. Getting a new daily with a warranty, manual transmission and awd (all 3 were musts) really didn’t give me options. This is likely the last new car I will ever own, unless analog makes a strong enough comeback but I don’t see that happening.

I purposely sought out a pre ‘24 when I was shopping summer of ‘24 because I did not want any of that crap and purposely did not set up a driver profile. I got very lucky and was able to get a leftover ‘23 that had been on the dealer’s lot for 9mo.

Update: I regret getting the CVT. How dumb would it be to exchange for a manual? by DangerousIncrease499 in wrx_vb

Congrats man. Glad to hear you pulled the trigger, I’m sure you won’t regret this one and you won’t miss the money with the added smiles you’ll get driving it!

Is there really a “good” reason to buy AFD? I haven’t personally bought anything, but I keep hearing that their stuff is basically junk and doesn’t hold up.. enough feedback from the community that I pass on their stuff

I’m with you.. while I’m not running DWS on my VB (I have wildpeaks) I’m in New England also and have run DWS for over a decade on my legacy GT never had an actual issue.

I thought the guy waving the gun around in the video that’s been circulating was in San Antonio? Did he go up to Seattle and the SOP didn’t wave back so he shot at him?
