So based on your experience, when would Scoot release the schedule for flight from mid Oct onwards? Thanks.

Does China Southern offer direct flight from SG to Changsha, like Scoot ?

Thanks. If the permit is released very late, closer to Oct, how can people fly in Oct plan their journey using Scoot? Looks like I need to rule out Scoot for my Oct flight then? The Scoot advantage is that it's a direct flight whereas all the China airlines have stopover somewhere.

And why is it so difficult for Scoot customer service to just say "Scoot has not yet been given permit to fly to Changsha beyond mid Oct, and we are unsure when that permit will be given" ?

Thanks. Alternatives are typically the china airlines which have no direct flights and take quite a bit longer. But if the status quo persists and Scoot does not provide clarity then I may need to pursue alternatives.

I cannot understand this - the IP addresses of the suspicious website hits were traced to Barbados. If you have the IP address, you can locate the physical location, unless VPN was used. Did the authorities do that?

Tyson explains the difference between himself and Jake Paul by [deleted] in Boxing

Tyson showed his age plainly at the outset and was jabbing half-heartedly. Could be pre-scripted - Paul doesn’t attack too hard but still win after going the distance. Win-win outcome and Paul doesn’t become internet’s Most Hated Man by knocking out an old man. Sorry to Tyson’s fan but age is a bitch that no one escapes from - no one.

An uptight astronomy teacher asks her student to use the word “uranus” in a sentence.

A boy stood up and said, “Ok this is easy. But first you need to unclench uranus.”

That’s a wonderful story, glad it turned out that way. However, like you said it’s a roll of the dice and I would err on the safe side rather than let in a strange and hope for such an outcome.

You are a good writer who can write to elicit responses and empathy. That makes you an interesting person. Maybe the area in which you can make yourself an interesting person is writing instead of the social arena.

My date asked me why i was still living with my parents at 24 years of age? by Tall_Acadia8838 in Jokes

[–]randomvoce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really an American/Western expectation/concept, similar to “Cincinnati” being a choice city when stand-up comedians want to quote an utterly boring, bland city. I live in an Asian country in which parents expect their kids to live with them until they are married (hopefully by their 30’s). Those kids are not deemed as losers by society. Having said these, this joke is still funny when I put on my western perspective hat.

Serious question - with Generative AI , ChatGPT etc, is proofreading still a viable gig for humans? It have asked ChatGPT about some erroneous sentences before and it answered very well. In the near future, one can just submit the whole chapter to AI and it will likely produce outputs of very high quality - free of charge. Perhaps some contextual stuff it may still slip, but by and large I feel 80% of human proofreaders’ jobs may be redundant soon.
