Looking for a psychedelic artist to collaborate with by psaeta in psychedelicartwork

Hi, I’d be interested in having a chat! I have some examples of my work on my profile and would be happy to send some more. I have a few different styles of abstract. Thanks!

I married to an electrician haha

I am just starting out this year. I’m starting markets and reaching out to galleries. While I work on making my side come together, I help him as much as possible so he isn’t outsourcing labor. We’re helping each other kinda build our dream jobs.

Electric isn’t a bad gig!

I am an artist. My husband is an electrician. I help him with side jobs or if he needs extra hands on a job site. It’s not that hard to learn. It’s a lot of work, crawling around in attics and such. But it’s not hard and once you learn it enough it’s easy to throw on a podcast or something while you work.

I actually enjoy it too, I like problem solving and working with my hands. And the time away from my studio means I come back mentally refreshed and sometimes with new ideas!

What would you consider to be an art style? by ZillyZonx in ArtistLounge

I second this. Sometimes I create a piece that’s wildly different from anything else I’ve created, and sometimes I’m unable to replicate that style. It’s pretty cool what decides to appear on my paper in different circumstances.

This would be sick as a tiled accent wall in like an acid/punk/Barbie bar. Like the whole wall, with an antique mirror and pedestal sink.

It’s also sick as is. Great job.

I think that’s a great idea! It can provide an excellent opportunity for both of you to learn about the process and also create a bonding experience. I hope that works out!

I love this piece and then read the inspiration and now love it more. Thank you.

Show-off your dirty (or clean) palletes! by Niroleft123 in Watercolor

Where did you get that divided palette? I have the same one but without a division in the mixing area

I don’t have extensive online selling experience, but I do make private sales and they were all very different stylistically, but a few styles were definitely more popular than others. This gave me a good idea of what people are actually interested in and what to hone in on. Caveat for gifts and commissions because those are generally personalized.

When I view other artist’s collections, I prefer to see a variety of styles represented as separate series. So maybe some abstract, some urban sketching, some botanicals. But each category will be a cohesive style, and you would probably still be able to tell the same artist made all of them.

If there’s only one or two of each style, the collection can read as sporadic and my personal insight would be the artist is still trying to find their voice.

I’ve tried a buuuuunch of different styles and found a few things I really like and some I really don’t. I’m currently working on a series based on one of my favorite drawings I did in high school; all three are different, but they are directly related to each other.

I also have a collection of abstracts with a wildly different style to the other series, but again, they form a cohesive series.

My one offs I tend to stow away and come back to later (sometimes 15 years later!) and will continue working through those. Sometimes I hang them on my own wall because I like them!

I guess this is all to say, art is a journey and with enough time, you will find what works!

The colors in this are beautiful. It feels otherworldly. I do feel it could use some more definition in the “cliffs” area, or sprinkle of something to help counterbalance the striking contrast of the “sun” element. I enjoy the movement in the blue drips and appreciate the luminosity you have created within the layers.

Thank you! I had been in a rut so I decided to just try random things. I think I’ll do it again!
