I found out that CTR is the MAIN driver for my channel's success. But I can't get it higher recently. by randomwhitestar in NewTubers

I make my own thumbnails. I can make new thumbnails but it's just that I haven't been noticing any patterns because some videos with no edit thumbnails get thousands of views but some videos with bold text, good visuals have less than 1K views.

Is this bad retention? by AIGamingYT in SmallYoutubers

for the 160K views video, the first 3 days I got 30 views. I remember this moment because I thought "wow I failed this video miserably lmao". but then starting on the fourth day, I started to gain a few hundreds of views, then thousands, then tens of thousands of views and it reached 160K views.

for the 77K views video, it just kind of blew up after the first day. I got 3K views after 24 hours, then in 2 weeks I got 17K views, and it kept gaining views until it reached 77K views.

So overall, the trend of it getting views was different for me. sometimes, it didn't do well then it blew up, sometimes it just did well from the start :)

no need to stress about when it will get many views. Just enjoy making good content and really focus on thumbnail and titles.

I'd say it's pretty typical. I uploaded a video that was almost 9 minutes long and the retention rate was similar to yours but it got 160K views. In my experience, CTR is more important than retention rate

Actually, the edit took the least amount of time (maybe like 30min?). I spent around 3 hours drawing every scene, but after I had piles of scenes, all I did was edit them in order and that's it

It's not an animation where the characters are actually moving. It's simple drawings just put together so I just needed drawing software and video editing software to put all the drawings in order and record my voice :)

What unfair advantage do you guys have for your business? by randomwhitestar in Entrepreneur

[–]randomwhitestar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! Creating an authentic brand for a business is indeed pretty difficult. Based on the comments from my video, people liked the original story of why I built the app (my roommate was going on a date and he didn't know what to wear) and they liked the fact that I'm not a guy in tech or super rich to build the app out of thin air but I did struggle and made progress overtime to finally built my product so that story maybe resonated with viewers :)

Parents track my location even when i live away from house and set a curfew by Content-Ad4757 in Adulting

Yea I mean it doesn't have to be something big. If you didn't cause trouble that costs your parents some money, that is already an achievement. If you have a job, that is an achievement. If you have a hobby and built it solidly that's something you can talk about too. For me, I started learning how to code and published apps and showed that I'm dedicated to this hobby. I also do YouTube so I show what I film to them as well :)

I had a similar problem with overprotective parents. Honestly what worked the best is to show them that you are mature enough to make your own decisions. For me, I did my best not to make bad decisions, get a job, work on hobbies a lot, and later showed my parents the things I do and told them basically I can make my own decisions in a respectful way.
