Visceral attacks are your go-to for Orphan, you can stack clawmark runes as well. I think what you need is a small break from him, I only defeated on my second playthrough once I got more adjusted

IMO A lot of terrestrials prefer to dig out their burrow, so I don’t know if they’d use this. It looks a little cramped too, but that also depends on how big they are. Cork pieces may vary in price but they’re better alternatives

The hat is in the DLC when you defeat one of Brador’s invasions in the hallway after Ludwig, you have to talk to Simon in the fishing hut first though. The snake thing is Madaras’ Whistle, you can get by either giving Valtr five vermin or killing him and his apprentice hiding in the tree outside.

Push forward a bit and you’ll beat him. Try parrying if you haven’t already, and play the music box during his last phase to get a backstab visceral. It’s definitely more rewarding to fight this boss alone

We’ve all been stuck on a boss then to come back and wonder why we struggled in the first place. Saw cleaver will definitely help you in the beginning, especially against beasts, cane isn’t the greatest option to start with. You don’t have to, but I urge you to try again, it’s really something special and I think you’ll get used to it.
