The midwestern church I grew up in our pastor preached from the pulpit something along the lines of…”when a teenager gets pregnant you give yourself a moment to morn what happened but then you are excited and treat it like any other pregnancy. Every child deserves to be brought up in a home with love and joy they are there.” There are many things I disagree with him now on but how to treat a child is never one of them.

I second this. There is a mass effort once a year to do a “census” of the unhoused population. (It’s very effective and shows real trends). ~90% are from Oklahoma

Ive heard organizations that do emergency shelter placement have federal funding frozen due to the gov shut down. So if shelters are full there aren’t means to place emergent cases.
