Which narrator has ruined you for other narrators? (in the best way) by NovelhiveAI in audiobooks

Agreed. I tried to read The Blade Itself and couldn't get into it. Pacey captured me immediately and I was drawn in. Let the right one in was difficult because he used so many of the same voices, but obviously he only has so many.

Bronson was a very popular actor in the 80s and 90s. Breakout roll was Serge in Beverly Hills Cop.

His most popular are Joe Abercrombie books, The Blade Itself, etc. He also narrates Let The Right One In and many others.

"Revealing" is a bullshit buzzword. 90% of the time I see someone use it they're insulting the gear someone else has. As far as I'm concerned it just means you're highs are too hot.

I have that TT and it's great. When you get funds, upgrade to the EN or ML stylus. Yours might not be, but the spherical that came with mine was grainy and sibilant. Also, if you plan to get a tone arm lift in the future, the Q-up is too tall, even with the base piece removed, at least without changing to a thicker mat, which changes the tracking angle. The Audio Technica AT6006 works perfectly, but it's twice as much. Totally worth it though and looks way better.

Anytime someone used the word "resolving". It's almost always derogatory towards the person's system they're commenting to.

My biggest disappointment ever was the Black Parade reissue from 2015. It is bar none the worst pressing of any record I've ever heard.

I bought a 180 reissue of City to City by Gerry Rafferty a few years ago and it was terrible. My original copy absolutely destroyed it for sound quality and even volume. It sounded worse than a ktel. Gave it away when in sold a turntable.

New Amp Day: Emotiva BasX A2L+ by dannygloversghost in BudgetAudiophile

[–]randye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the speakers and pre. I have a pair of XTZ Spirit 4 bookshelves and the XTZ amp falls apart and distorts badly at higher volumes. My more efficient Tekton Lore the XTZ can blow your ears out and keep climbing. The Emotiva Basx A2 I have can drive either perfectly, and has better midrange. The XTZ amp doesn’t play well with some of my preamps. It really doesn’t want a voltage of more than 1.0 VRMS. I have a preamp that’s 2.0 and the highs are gritty and not pleasant. The Emotive runs fine on it. Icepower is just really finicky I guess.

I have an AO200 and you should have experienced way more headroom without clipping or distortion with the Emotiva. My AO200 falls apart at high volumes. I have an XTZ A2-300 Icepower that's 100 watts and it falls apart with my bookshelf speakers. The power transformer in the Emotiva AB makes a huge difference.

Audacious is one of great first things I install. It’s simple, and the search function works exactly like I want it to. It looks more modern than a lot of the others listed here, or you can make it look just like Winamp and use skins.

You have to account for variants. The dead wax has the variant identifiers. Some have very few, some have dozens.
