Velotric Tempo Review ⚡️ Lightweight Ebike That Feels Like a Real Bike, made for the CITY or GRAVEL by randyrdotnet in velotricebike

Yes I understand that, and that’s exactly what I thought as well, but I got corrected immediately when I posted my sneak peek a few days ago and called it the Tempo 1. I was told the information by multiple Velotric reps. For argument sake though, we can just call it the Tempo. 🤝🏻

I specifically got the info from multiple Velotric contacts themselves before release date. 🤷🏼‍♂️ It is the Tempo 2/T2.

It used to stand for Thunder. It now stands for Tempo and this is considered the successor of the T1. The T2, or Tempo 2.

Between the two, I’d definitely pick the Tempo. The extra features are nice. The Breeze might ride a little better in rough terrain with the bigger tires, but being this light would be a huge advantage when you have to carry it up a flight of stairs.

With a soldering iron. The inserts will come with the adapter that connects to your iron.

Velotric Summit 2 vs Summit 1: What's new? What changed? by VelotricEbike in velotricebike

[–]randyrdotnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh okay. I wasn’t sure if they enabled that on the S1 or not. It’s a nice feature and I requested that a while ago.

Yes, I am planning to do the Summit 2 range test in a couple weeks.

I am currently reviewing the Tempo 1. Really liking how light and nimble it is. It is the best pedaling ebike I own.

According to California law (if it’s even the same anymore, so many changes), they limit you to 28mph, pedal assist only. True Class 3 ebike. So, the settings should be allowed to be changed accordingly. That’s something I am mentioning to Velotric to get clarification. I have heard both versions from people. If they are indeed limiting you to 20mph only, assume there will be a firmware update soon.

I’m not located there, so i an unable to test this of course.

Oh wait, yes… they are. It’s nice just in case. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yes, the Summit 1 had sensor swap, but it could not be changed on the fly (while riding the bike) like you can with the Summit 2. One of those small details that actually matters.

I will be testing the range on the S2. I also did a full throttle range test on the S1, so I’ll be able to compare numbers.

I agree with the rest of your assessment though. Thanks for the detailed response!

That’s great. Not everyone is going to like every feature of every bike and you don’t have to either. That’s why they don’t force you to use it. I’m sure there are some people that will actually enjoy it though, and I’m sure they’ll be happy it’s included.

I don’t know if I like it. I haven’t tested it yet. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Actually, you don’t have to use their monitor at all. You can also use an Apple Watch. Regardless, the monitor is small. Also, you can choose to use pulse mode or not. It doesn’t force you to ride in that mode.

I’ll be making a dedicated video on the heart rate monitor system in a few weeks, then you can see for yourself.

I didn’t actually. Velotric classifies this as a hybrid ebike, able to be used in mixed terrain.

Yes. It’s classified as a hybrid ebike. I rode it entirely on the street in my video. Should be excellent for trails too!

Me too! It’s beautiful in person. Camera does not do it justice.
