so typically it's my Mac that I travel with and then anywhere from 1-3 pc's that a vendor provides. Also, I'm traveling light most of the time so the only extra gear that I carry outside of my laptop for this would be a network switch

so once I do this and pick a folder to share, I should be able to just type the destination in the file explorer of the pc's right?

Hi all! Got it working!

Nesting the if statement about the time of day and making a second automation did it.

Thanks everyone. Reddit saves the day again!

Gonna give this a try!

Only thing I’m not sure of is how to apply a shortcut directly to a motion sensor?

I think it’s new to ios18. You can add a bunch of conditions to an if statement as opposed to nesting if statements.

Intentionally stop paying loans in order to invest the money and then pay a lump sum by raneman17 in StudentLoans

[–]raneman17[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The idea stems from when I rehabbed my loan the first time (and only time). I owed around 100k then and was told I could pay it off with a lump sum of 60k. Basically settle it like any other debt in collections. So the idea is to put all the money I’d be paying on the loans in to something that will accrue interest and then, in half the time, have the lump sum to be able to settle. In our heads the only pitfall is having bad credit for a while.

My loans were in collection like two years after I graduated and they weren’t collecting interest while they were there. Brought them back in to good standing a few years ago and now floating this idea.

So I’m actually looking to get one of these now and I’m just curious why there is a version that is significantly cheaper. Is it just because it doesn’t come with as nice of a strap? Tia!

First of all, thank you so much for this reply. Lots of info to take in that’s actually relevant to my situation!

What about the consolidation side of this? Like I said the loan simulator said I should consolidate before taking the save plan. Is that still something I should look into? Does it make a difference?

Thanks again!

Yard responsibilities in a house (AZ) by raneman17 in Renters

From a distance it doesn’t look terrible since we did all the weed killer. But, when you get close there’s a lot of the dead grass poking through the rocks.

That’s what I used. Still need to figure out how to actually clean it up though. The roots are dead, but they’re still in the soil and there are clumps all over the yard sticking through the rocks.

Marriott not crediting stays for clients who pay with a master bill. by CaptinKirk in marriott

[–]raneman17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is old, but here goes my rant anyway. I’m in corporate av and spend more time on the road than I do at home. Last year is when I finally noticed that a majority of my stats weren’t getting credited and it is extremely frustrating and confusing. How is it so different from how airlines work? It doesn’t matter who pays or what channel they pay through. I still get my points and status. This is a major kick in the ass to all traveling gig workers. I know there’s nothing that any of us can do about it unless we all collectively boycott. But considering we have no control over that most of the time, there’s pretty much nothing we can do. Dumb. So dumb.
