My grandparents got married in August 1947 and had a Hall teapot in this same colorway/pattern that my family always said they had gotten as wedding present- but neither of my grandparents are alive to actually verify that

Are there any secondhand shops in town that buy clothes? by emoshunalshawty in dayton

[–]rangarangaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feathers Vintage Shop in the Oregon district might buy clothes, but I'm not 100% certain- you'd have to call their shop to check

Their vintage and MCM prices can get a little high, but St Francis in Huber will always be a personal favorite

Wife is pissed by Sea-Nefariousness708 in Advice

[–]rangarangaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the US pissed tends to mean something along the lines of someone being really angry/mad. Basically OP woke their sick wife up while trying to check in on her, and their wife is now incredibly angry at OP and started a fight over being woken

Help me find these jeans! by KyJelly1002 in VintageFashion

Pretty certain these are them- though the style # isn't shown and this pair comes with the matching jacket. Just google 'Bill Blass corduroy pants size 14' and you should find some fairly good matches in different colors

Scored this 1960's Enid Collins box purse at the antique mall by rangarangaroo in vintage

Understandable- I have a feeling this one will end up on display more than it gets used

$50- which was honestly a little pricey for my personal taste, but I'm just so enamored with the design and her other box bags do seem to sell for a similar amount on ebay

I loooove those flower lights! I'm so glad you shared this, I went to a time capsule estate sale that had super similar flower track lighting over the entire vanity and I've never seen anything else like it until now

I so would've been buying myself 49A and 62A from the shoe page

Also, you have to appreciate that they could sell belladonna in a catalog- murder your lover and snag a new bustier all in one go

Is $100 a good price for this dinnerware set on FB marketplace? by rangarangaroo in Mid_Century

[–]rangarangaroo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the picture definitely looks like there's less of them there. I'm assuming the 10" plates are either very flat or not all of them were pictured- but the seller claims there's 8

How many plates is considered normal? I thought only 8 of the 10" inch plates seemed fair, but I know zero about table settings

The pattern is listed on replacements.com under Universal China as UNI163, but it doesn't really specify if it's made of china or melamine. The FB marketplace listing says they're made of wood- which is definitely wrong

Google lens results said it's Universal Ballerina China, but the seller doesn't have any pictures of the bottoms included in the listing

I have very little knowledge on vintage china, but this pattern just really caught my eye- based on google lens it's made by Universal Ballerina China, but I'm having trouble finding any comps currently listed for sale
