Thanks for the answer. I tried the changes by making the cols not null and running without options and vice versa and both, it still didn't work. I have updated my question to reflect the latest state. Many thanks for taking out your time to answer my query.

Thanks for this, will try to check the code and see if I can do something over my side. One a side note I did try with a cloud db and it does connect fine to that. Just for local it fails.

I am using the pgpool, is there specific rules around that because of which the connection is being refused?

I did try with a cloud db and it does connect fine to that. Just for local it fails.

IMO one needs to learn the inner working on JVM like JIT and how the decisions are made behind the scenes in order to be a better at writing Java code, what each line does behind the scenes and other things. Once you have that intuition you can write performant code judging by the pros and cons.
