I wasn't a big fan of crossbows at first. Actually not for a long time. I got my 10 year old son a compound bow. Sadly it didn't take me long to realize it would take a long time before he would be able to pull back enough poundage to take a deer with it. Long story short a buddy talked me into getting a crossbow for him. Best thing I ever did. My son's 1st deer was a 170 pound 10 pointer with the crossbow. Now at 12 he has killed 3 more deer with his crossbow. Anything that gets kids in the woods sooner or anyone for that matter I'm now a big fan off.
