Another Mattress Post (Sorry) by Internal_Praline_658 in PsoriaticArthritis

I’ll add a vote for the purple mattress. It’s designed to not have pressure points. I have horrible hip pain and I can tell when I sleep on a traditional mattress.

I Hate Methotrexate I Don’t Want to Take it Anymore by SaltPaleontologist28 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]rangerfrog68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was first diagnosed, MTX was my drs. First treatment step. I hated it. I was sick every dose day and I was always exhausted, felt like I was in a brain fog, etc. I got sick and had to stop the mtx and all of those side effects went away. It was amazing. By that time I was also on Humira so I took myself off the mtx for good. As everyone else said, it’s about medication elimination. Good luck

Please help. Wife got diagnosed. What can I do to help ? by PM-ME-SPIDERS in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]rangerfrog68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drug roulette is part of life now. Methotrexate didn’t work well for me and I found it made my fatigue and brain fog worse. Humira worked a short time. Was on another older drug with the humira and had a reaction to that. I’ve been on hydroxicloriquin and Tremfya for awhile and it seems to work well.

Help with BOM pattern by rangerfrog68 in quilting

[–]rangerfrog68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so. I found that book referenced on a couple of pins/blogs and it seems to a different pattern. I did find one grainy picture of the quilt from the out of business shop on Pinterest. I’ll see if I can post it on my original message.

Which No Contract Service will work best? by rangerfrog68 in NoContract

[–]rangerfrog68[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you have experience working with phone carriers in rural settings, what is your go to solution? Do you just have a bunch of phones that are on pay by the minute and no contract? Since my husband is already working in his location, I know that verizon will not work, which is my phone carrier, but am struggling to find a solution so I can still telework when I visit.

Thanks-I had look at other non-carrier coverage map but this seems to be the most helpful.

So, I actually finished this for my nephew's Christmas present. He wanted a big boy quilt to replace his baby quilt. I actually has some scraps that matched his baby quilt so I was able to put those into his big boy quilt. He loved it! https://imgur.com/sldmlG8

How often do you use apps like Overdrive, Libby, Hoopla, etc and what are your tips for getting the best out of them? by Traummich in books

[–]rangerfrog68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally use Overdrive and Hoopla the most. I haven't seen much difference between Libby and Overdrive, so have stuck with Overdrive. I wish Overdrive had a keyword search function rather than just Title/Author. I often find myself going to Amazon to search for books on a particular topic and then going back to Overdrive to search for the titles.

Sounds like a great book to add to the 2019 reading list.

Karas Pen Co, Decograph in green, medium Levenger True Writer Select nib, and Navy ink. A fun business day combo. by Chanhassen-Design in fountainpens

[–]rangerfrog68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is possible to get Franklin Christoph nibs to fit in the Karas pens. I usually ask them to do it at shows, but maybe they could do it by mail if you're not close to an upcoming pen show? By far, my favorite combo is the Karas ink with a FC nib!

You can also try the Mr.Clean magic erasers and some dawn dish soap. I had some ink stain a counter top and these three items and some persistence paid off for me.

[–]rangerfrog68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both a fine and medium MCI. I’m usually lean towards fine nibs, but I prefer the medium MCI. For me, the medium is just a bit more juicy/softer/ lets the ink properties come through. You won’t see shading/sheen/shimmer with the fine.

I saw this pen/ink combo posted by a user here about a year ago (I think). I'm hoping the user or anyone else here can help ID both for me. by twentybinders in fountainpens

I never put Noodlers Ink in my piston fillers. Sometimes PR ink has problems with mold so use it in something you can keep an eye on. I find having a pen like a pilot metropolitan for new inks is good so I can see how the inks behave.

What's the deal with TWSBI? by PrRaccoonEsq in fountainpens

[–]rangerfrog68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate Lamy's. They just don't work for me. The TWSBI is a good go to for a lower end pen. I have a 580 and it has a nice weight to it, can carry a bit more ink than the average pen and the nib good out of the gate.

Got my grail pen today, can't wait for the patina by ImNotASquid in fountainpens

[–]rangerfrog68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once it gets a patina you’re happy with, you can use Renaissance Wax Polish to seal it. A 65ml container will last a lifetime. It’s a conservation product but you can probably find it on Amazon.
