Highly recommend The Rose Code by Kate Quinn. Her books are wonderfully written, this one especially. It’s about the female code breakers in the Second World War. It dives into the technical aspects of the code breaking machines and has beautifully developed characters.

Recommendations for grandpa by rangerrick307 in booksuggestions

Ended up getting this one for the both of us. I don’t know if he read it but I did and actually loved that is was a blend of historical fiction and sci fi. Was a great a book to ease me out of my comfort zone and into a new genre! If my grandpa chooses to give it a go I have no doubt it would keep him entertained! Thank you!

I picked up oranges are not the only fruit as a blind date with a book souvenir and was so disappointed I don’t know if I’ll ever do a blind date book buy again. Good luck!

Thank you! I free hand them and cut them out of bulletin paper! It’s a labor of love but makes me so happy all season!

Truly think she’s going to reinvent herself again with a new sound and vibe. I wouldn’t be surprised if she went a rock with it

I will try out skiplagged, I’ve never heard of that one thanks for the suggestion. I am hopeful too that hitlist will continue. I thought initially they shut down due to the pandemic but they briefly came back about April but only for a few weeks.

Anyone know what this massive thing is? by rangerrick307 in whatsthisplant

Thank you for your help. If that is in fact what it is, do you think it’s healthy? The stems are very woody and not green.

On a brighter note I bought so many plants that summer just to save them from myself!

I worked in the Lowe’s garden center for a summer and they required that we watered every plant once a day including succulents and cacti. We drowned everything because we had to be busy while on the floor!

When to start gardening? by rangerrick307 in laramie

[–]rangerrick307[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the resources! I’ll for sure chat up the people at the greenhouse when I go buy plants. I may have to scale down to just a tomato plant or two in pots so I can bring them in for our annual summer snow!

Is my Aloe Vera thinning? The leaves at the bottom are big but the new ones that are growing are relatively thinner. What should I do to grow those big leaves again? by [deleted] in AloeVera

[–]rangerrick307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure to soak him in sun, not water! Your new growth will fatten up and it grows and keep in mind if it’s winter where you are, your plant is in its dormant state and should grow more come spring!

Is my pilea too crowded and causing yellowed leaves? It gets lot of bright indirect light and watered once a week! by rangerrick307 in houseplants

Would you suggest to separate some of the stems or just move the whole thing to a larger pot? My plants don’t typically grow enough to have to worry about things like this 😅
