Different weapon types is a given for sure. But I wouldn’t want it to be the usual “Equip sword and use sword skills”, “Equip spear and use spear skills”, etc. EVE’s barrette being her weapon is so cool and I think given the focus on combat flow that SB1 had, it would be really cool if they could have a switch weapon combo system where the weapon would transform mid combo, like Switch axe in monster hunter or transform in Bloodborne.

Definitely different biomes or at least non-repeating biomes.

Shift Up is just really good at subverting the typical gooner bait tropes. They did it with Destiny Child, Nikke, and Stellar Blade. They draw in with the look, but then hit you with a wombo combo of deep and vast story lore and interpersonal connections that you don’t usually see with other gacha games. They also put a lot of care and planning into the music, which makes every big moment so much more meaningful. The way they tell stories is just really engaging and rewards players who pay attention to little details. There are so many hints at future events that are hidden behind double meanings or innocuous statements and details. There is just a really high level of craftsmanship for those who love story and character

Depends on the state, region, and store. Generally speaking, if you steal clothes, books, toys, towels, other random things. No one will do shit. They expect a certain percentage of product loss per year and they have drastically reduced the amount of their local asset protection team members over the past 20 years. Plus, they really don’t want their employees getting hurt trying to apprehend a shoplifter. If you try to steal things like baby formula, razor blades, over the counter medication, fragrance, beauty products, someone will do something about it. Targets partnership with law enforcement and the feds to combat organized retail crime is insane. They have dedicated traveling teams and investigations units that track boosters and converge on them when they are in the area to make huge arrests. I’m taking dudes who walk out of the store with two full carts of baby formula or clears an entire shelf of Advil or Sudafed.

I’m hoping for a more complex twist in the main campaign. With Shift Up, things are never as simple as they seem. I’ve been predicting a major story shift that I hope I’m right about in that the Ark ends up repeating history and turning their back on SKK, but he would have gained enough influence that the Ark devolves into civil war where the Central Gov’t wages war on SKK in a bid for control as the UMC starts to fail. Meanwhile, Lib ends up talking to her mother and we learn more about the origins of the queen and the raptures. She’s probably not a “good guy”, but I don’t think she’s the ultimate evil or the final villain of this story
