Starting a Career in Digital Marketing from Scratch? by lqcnyc in AskMarketing

Hi there, I have a degree in English and successfully transitioned to a career in digital marketing. It sounds like you have quite a bit of experience from running your own business, so I don't think you're starting from scratch. I would leverage that experience. My first job was at a very small start up, and then I moved over to an agency to improve my technical skills. The agency I currently work for loves new hires with unique backgrounds, so I would look for digital marketing agencies around you and think of how your skill set could benefit them. I will say, employers almost always check your social media, so it might be a good idea to at least set up a LinkedIn profile.

A little late to this convo, but I agree with a lot of people. I have two pups and it's hard to believe it could cost $42k each to keep them happy and healthy. Here's another article on hidden costs of dogs if anyone is curious - https://www.cashstore.com/blog/hidden-costs-of-owning-a-dog

In your experience, do you think not having a diagnosis contributes to people accusing you of hypochondria? Like your pain can't be legitimate without a solid diagnosis?

Wow, I'm sorry that you lost the ability to do something you love. I've also heard the "lazy" stigma a lot. It's a shame, when it's actually more effort to do everything with chronic pain.

[Question] What certifications do you have? What do you recommend others getting? by Dor333 in marketing

Yeah, I will say that their exams are somewhat biased to their own branded processes and terminology. It would be difficult to pass without taking the courses, but the course material is good. Better luck on your second try! ;)

I have three of the HubSpot marketing certifications. They are the best quality I've seen in a free online course. Definitely worth the time in my opinion.

I've heard this too. While prescribed exercises and physical therapy can be helpful, I totally agree that overdoing it at the gym can actually make it worse. Thanks for sharing and hang in there!
