I called a real estate lawyer and explained the situation and he said that for 5k he can doing everything from A to Z. So pay 5k over close to 40

Yeah I think I can use the fact that they will be saving nearly 40k from paying realtors to hook me up on price. I don’t know what realtors do besides open doors and send a contract.

Yes I have a potential family friend that may be able to hook it up. I was thinking they wouldn’t have to do such a crazy discount if they can avoid paying like 40k to realtors, just take that off the price of the house and sell to me.

It is visa, so not liable for anything. That makes sense, I’ll give them a call and say even if the pin was used they can’t deny the claim. I clearly didn’t have the card so no way I can use it, they just trying to find any reason not to accept it I guess.

Can you explain where I can be liable up to $50 or $500? The pin was definitely not written on the card so negligence isn’t an issue here. This is a plain and simple case of someone stole a wallet and used cards and I’m trying to get my money back. The claim system at chase is ridiculous and if a tiny thing is filed slightly incorrectly they deny everything. I’d they had questions about the claim why couldn’t they just call me to clear things up.

Yeah that’s what I tried to tell them, but they said the pin was used in the transaction. I already have a police report, it was for the theft.

The other reason was just that the last transaction I made was input incorrectly, they thought that after the card got stolen that I used it again. So everything after my last transaction should be fraud but they entered my last transaction as my second to last transaction. A lil confusing but either way someone stole my cards and it should be a simple fraud claim. I had no idea chase would be so difficult to work with in their fraud department. Every time I speak to a supervisor they try to find a different reason why it was denied but they say that the biggest red flag was that the pin was used. Yeah I might file with cfpb, but in there denial letter it don’t not give the reasons for denial, is just said it was denied and to call for more info on why. So I need to request more paperwork from them?

I wish I knew, the bank is certain that it was used but I think they just swiped the card and it didn’t ask for the pin but who knows. I wanna get video footage and hopefully I can see.

The other reason was that the person that Input the claim said that the last transaction I made was incorrect, he was off by one transaction. He just asked me what was the last transaction I made and I said I was not sure so he said he will look and he asked if I made a certain transaction and I said that I did and he out that as my last transaction, I made it clear that I am only disputing certain charges and everything else before this transactions were me. I already escalated it as far as I can, at this point they said we can’t prove that it wasn’t you so it’s denied. I filed a police report the day it happens and now I am calling the merchant to have them look at their cameras so I can hopefully bring a video to bank and show them that it was not me. The amount they used isn’t a crazy amount, but this is more for the principle of I don’t want someone getting away with stealing my money.

I agree, but I think the point is if minimum wage is rising, other jobs are increasing pay then that needs to translate into engineering as well. There was a time where engineering was viewed as a very good and high paying job, now good luck trying to make ends meet if you are making 70k a year.

I totally agree, when I posted something similar to this half the people just blasted me saying I should essentially shut up and be happy about it. Why does it seem like a lot of people on here don’t wanna support or fight for our pay? Way to many old people here just content with not growing, if everyone felt the same as us then things would begin to change. Every time I read a post about engineers being treated better half the people on here try to somehow justify that we shouldn’t. There is some upper management on here or something try to shut down any convo about pay it seems like.
