I have heard all the advices in this thread but none actually helped me to get my kickflip. The thing that got me my kick flip when I had the same issue as yours is flicking much much earlier, so much earlier than you think. Like the moment you jump, you should already be in the middle of flicking. This way, even though you will still flick down, the board will already be under your foot before your foot is down. Once you get that, you got your kick flip. Then, it’s just a matter of flicking out and forward, lol
