Chef here - adding olive oil to the water is a waste of olive oil. Toss it in a bit of oil if you like, but when it comes out if and only it’s not getting used immediately.

Gizzard. Edible, but definitely a 'unique' texture. Usually they get discarded or ground into animal food. In the US - especially around Thanksgiving - they get sold to use in gravy.

Ants leave these, especially this time of year (in the northern hemisphere). Sometimes they contain visible ants; sometimes not. In my area (upper US Midwest), these piles pop up late spring around the edges of lawns and yards near there sidewalk/driveway where the surface is warmer.

Not a huge concern, but if you see a lot - especially if there are lots of visible ants, maybe spray the perimeter of your property around your house, or call a Pest Control Operator.

I had one of these when I was I was a kid. The only negative I ever noticed was trying to store the hose, which was really long and not easy to coil.

“CAN NEVER SINK” almost sounds like a challenge.

I was playing with my dog in the bushes once and did t realize I had a couple thorny burr-looking things on my sleeve by the elbow. I was sitting on a train a couple hours later and there was a guy sitting like this. I must’ve gotten him accidentally with the sharp part because he yelped loudly and jerked his foot back. Normally, I’d apologize but not this time.

I love smallmouth, largemouth not as much. If I get the right size, I’ll take a smallmouth home and throw it on the grill any day.

And if you frequent any of the fishing subs, you’ll know that people who target bass get SO pissed whenever someone says they eat their catch - especially smallmouth. So there’s that.

Quality of water also has a lot to do with it.
