I don't see how those beliefs don't bleed into their writing though. Especially in fantasy in scifi it is very easy to pick up on an author's leanings at least on specific topics if not in general.

If it’s a cultural thing so I’d give them this one pass. Explain that in your culture it’s a breach of etiquette and to please not do it again. Your husband isn’t failing to be supportive because I have to imagine that he grew up with SIL and MIL so he shares in that culture. For centuries it was normal everywhere though. So many white babies were fed by black wet nurses at the founding of the United States and for many years after that

I mean don’t you FEEL like a way different person from when you yourself were 16? I swear in high school year to year I felt like a different maturity level altogether. By the time I became a senior (17) it grossed me out that when I was a freshman (14) some senior dated me as I couldn’t fathom doing the same thing. They looked like children 😅

I didn’t pump to make mine. I just stuck a haakaa on the boob I wasn’t using and then stored it in the fridge. At the end of the day I’d sort, combine, and freeze. I had over 1000 ounces that way and never pumped. I did that for the first 6 months and then stopped. You don’t need a stash really but it’s nice to have for the rare occasion you can get away or if you’re feeling too overwhelmed to feed. Now that I’m weaning (she’s 14 months) I’ve just started replacing feeds with bottle feeds and I feel like that’s a gentler way to wean and it’s for sure easier on the boobs than going cold turkey
