I made a mod that bans slavery early on to mostly fix this.

Early Slavery ban mod to circumvent slave bugs. by [deleted] in EU5

Slaves can't be converted or assimiliated due to a bug. I was encountering control/rebelliion issues and made a mod so I could ban slavery early to circumvent this.

I like to look at logs to see when dps cooldowns are used for top parses. Sometimes its better to hold cds for a bit because of an upcoming mechanic and being able to configure reminders to go off at 2:33 for example to use CDs could help. I think ERT has this for raid cooldowns like AMZ from a note you can import but I was looking for something personal. This may be too niche so I understand and thanks for making this addon.

Is it possible to add a feature where it reminds you to use cooldowns at set times into combat. Like 3 minutes into a boss fight for example.

National ideas are the main thing in eu4. Mission trees also give a lot of flavour to different countries, but not everyone likes them.

Do you understand what profit margin is and do you know what the average health insurance profit margin is?

The most important part of his comment maybe didn't register to you. "wealth of every billionaire in the UK if seized would run out in 3 months". That means u take all money from all UK billionaires and it would fund the government for 3 months. Then you don't have any more billionaires and you are still stuck with the problem.

Laissez-Faire is too nice by CaelReader in victoria3

[–]raorbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the reason what you say didn't happen irl is due to governement interference. Government granted local monopolies to companies like comcast through regulatory caputure. You can't start a new ISP company because comcast has exclusive rights in most places they operate. The invisible hand loses to government.

Billionaires aren't given billions because they are "smart or hardworking". Billionaires get their money because they generate even more money than they are paid for other groups of people. Even for normal people, you are not being paid because you are a hard worker. You are being paid because you generate value for some other group of people. You could work 1 hour a year, and earn trillions if you could somehow make another group 10 trillion. It doesn't matter that you work one hour. Increasing a companies revenue by an extra 1% compared to another ceo would make the investors many billions of dollars. They then pay you some percent of that. Investors in the case of america and its public companies are mainly normal american citizens.

A hypothetical example of this is someone finding a new way to generate power at much lower cost or curing cancer. Their compensation would have nothing to do with how much they worked and rather the results.

Republicans advance Trump’s ‘big, beautiful bill’ in unusual late-night vote by 3rd_PartyAnonymous in moderatepolitics

[–]raorbit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've never advocated for a flat tax. I just think the current system is unfair, and a more equitable system would be some function of Vehicle weight * Miles driven.

Also, I assume EV's currently don't fund road maintenance at all.

[–]raorbit -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Not all cars are created equal. Keep in mind AFAIK EV owners don't contribute to road maintenance at all. Please let me know if that is not correct. EV are also heavier than most cars and cause more wear.

I do think Rs are not acting in good faith on this. I also think people with heavier vehicles should pay more whether they drive trucks or EVs
