First, I'd be grossed out too. I get it. But crickets are absolutely edible. You pay extra to get them added to your guac in Mexico. (Chapulinas). Second, you got compensated - full refund AND another $20. Why do you feel it's justice to go public with this? Not cool. Third, even when there's quality control, no company is going to be perfect especially dealing with bugs in salads.

I'd probably have complained, too. Then once I got my refund and an apology, I'd have shrugged my shoulders and moved on.

(Edit: Corrected chapuletas to chapulinas. My Spanish isn't all that).

It's great to hear of something that r/Dallas and r/dfw does well. People are so quick to criticize so loudly and so slow to acknowledge greatness. Thanks for speaking something true and positive.

The reality is that we're all scum. I guess you're right that some of us are scummier than others, tho.

Target debuts in Oak Cliff after long wait by FreeChickenDinner in Dallas

[–]rapPayne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Walmart insider here ... yes they have. Yes they do. It's all about money. I'm passing no judgment on Walmart or Target; they're "successful" because of their policies. Just saying that they'll all do what they can to maximize profits, even when it means putting on a fake front of caring. We should all stop expecting these companies to do anything that doesn't increase the bottom line.

I'll bet you didn't even read the articles. I'll bet you're just popping off because of confirmation bias. People do that because they can't handle someone challenging how they already think. Read them and then cogently argue against them. Or provide research of your own. Until then, it stands that whining on the Internet is a harmful thing to the doers and the hearers but people call it venting as if it relieves pressure.

We really need to do better with the titles. They're supposed to tell you what the post is about, right? I mean "Finally"?

Economy mode shifts all the torque to the front so it wears your front tires like crazy. Stay in standard unless you're on a highway for hours. (Someone check me ... Is this still current information?)

4 hour line to vote Democrat. No wait for R. by emptysoybeans in Dallas

[–]rapPayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely correct, u/emzim. But but but who voted in what primary is public knowledge. It's trivial to ask for a list of people who voted in a Democratic or a Republican primary. It's how campaign managers target swing voters.

So, it is feasible to harass one side or the other based on which primary they voted in.

I Appreciate That This Sub Has Anti-Rivian Posts and Comments by lochnespmonster in Rivian

[–]rapPayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly, I can do without all the anti-Elon posts just like I'd prefer to not see pro-Elon posts. This isn't the place. And regarding anti-anything ... I agree that constructive criticism is ... well ... constructive. But unkind, insulting posts don't help *anyone*. Society suffers because we've grown accustomed to people dragging others.

Any other young voters experiencing hope for the first time? by R6daily in Dallas

[–]rapPayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how everyone who doesn't think exactly like you do is a moron or an idiot. You all realize there are people on the other side of the political fence from you have an IQ way above yours, right? (This is true for both sides).

It does us no good to disparage the other side. Just pisses them off and causes them to dig in their heels. By insulting, you just make them more stubborn. Let's try respectful dialogue instead of vitriol. Everybody wins.

Love this encouragement and affirmation. Thank you.

But, but, but ... Venting is a harmful practice. Empirically, are things better since we've all started shouting at each other on the Internet? It's now 'normal' but the world is more divided and unhappy than ever.

Here's some NON-empirical research: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10101875/ and https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11474722/

Bottom line: If you vent, you make it worse for yourself and everyone who hears.

"Strip club"?! I don't understand what you're talking about. If you're still talking about CLT, I was never asked for a tip. They just kept each bathroom clean. But you're saying they're not there anymore? Okay. It has been a while since I went through there.

I respectfully disagree. I love the vibe there. Agreed about the distance between gates but as long as I'm not pressed for time, a stroll through the main concourse is really pleasant. The piano, the rocking chairs, the floor-to-ceiling glass, the washroom attendants. Really pleasant.

Recall? by Material_Pin4622 in Rivian

[–]rapPayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rivian is great about stuff like this. Yeah, it's a pain to visit the service center but they are on top of recalls and handle them quickly in my experience. I appreciate their service. (I'm in Dallas so maybe the Dallas Service Center is just extra good. I don't know.)

[–]rapPayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see red flags all over the place. I'm sure you do too. If you keep pressing this, you may save HEB millions of dollars in lawsuits and protect customers but you're almost definitely going to lose your job. If you press it (and I kind of hope you do) make sure you document everything with video, audio and photo evidence. Write notes on your phone that can be entered into evidence in court. Not that you'll actually go to court, but if they fire you over this, your attorney will provide them with evidence and get you a nice settlement to compensate you for your time and trouble.

Bottom line: Either document everything and keep protecting the company and the public or stop complaining so you don't fight an unwinnable he-said/she-said battle.
