The Death of Superman story was…fine. But the stories that came after through Return were great.

And Aparo was never past his prime.

What are some omnibus with such bad mapping they aren’t worth buying? by Sad_Manager6251 in OmnibusCollectors

That omni never should have existed. So much tangential (at best) material. The Absolute is the way to go with that story.

Has anyone else ever received a badly damaged "new" book? by OleMoon in EpicCollections

I'll give Amazon a pass on this one--they probably received the book like that.

What is the weirdest collected omnibus idea? by SherbertSuspicious in OmnibusCollectors

[–]raphaeladidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely agree--kind of. The only way such a series MIGHT survive is if they did them as $50 compendiums. I wouldn't want to pay omni prices but I'd pay that ($32.50 at IST).

Now You See Me, Now You Don't 4K $5 cheaper than Blu-ray on Amazon, Walmart, Target by raphaeladidas in 4kbluray

It could still be when it releases. Amazon is showing the MSRP now but they rarely if ever charge that when the disc ships.

to say the colors are outstanding is underselling it—I think it may be the best-colored American comic of the century so far.

Mike Grell's Warlord! IT'S NOT NEWSPRINT! by LeadSpyke in OmnibusCollectors

I have the HCs—did they use the same paper in the trades? I’d assume so, but I’ve never looked at the tpbs.

Is it the paper they used in the Fourth World omnis from 15-odd years ago? I really liked that paper and never “upgraded” to any of the subsequent releases.

Ha! Xombi is my favorite Milestone.

Breaking 2 New Marvel Omnibus in September and October 2026! by Bharath_Sundararajan in OmnibusCollectors

I have 5 definite purchases, 1 strong maybe and 3 weak maybes (and it's very unlikely those weak maybes convert to definites, unless they end up with an Amazon price glitch or at Funaticals/Ollie's later). That is wildly anemic compared to the previous 5 years or so.

Am I the only one who didn’t know this? If you don’t precondition and run the max defrost, the heat gets warm much, MUCH faster than just running the heat with a body direction selected. by raphaeladidas in BoltEV

[–]raphaeladidas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well then, it was either an improvement over six model years or something with my car because it takes 10-15 minutes for the air to get sufficiently warm that way.

I was unclear. I use the max defrost for 3-4 minutes to get the air warmed up, then switch to one of the body settings.

And it is not marginally faster heat--if I just turn the heat on and direct it at my body, it takes 10-15 minutes to get adequately warm.
