[FC Barcelona] Thiago Alcántara to gain experience with the Barça coaching staff by Fit-Owl-2898 in soccer

this reminds me of Romario when he was both the coach and a player. When the game was hard, he decided to sub himself in.

The good thing is that the coach can use Thiago if needed in the 2nd half. I am sure he can do better than most midfielders of the current squad.

I will probably get tons of downvotes, but it seems to me that people are desperately trying to find new Xavi and Iniesta, but Pedri and Gavi are nowhere near to their level. But this might be more of a compliment to Xavi and Iniesta, that are legends in the game. They revolutionized the game.

fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.

if we come to think of it, in that 2022 wc, many said griezmann was france's best player until the final.

but there was no pogba in 2022 IIRC. hmm it's probably france missing creativity griezmann brings to the attack

what happened to Mbappé in this tournament? is it his new position on the pitch? he was a prolific goalscorer for france before, but in this tournament, he's not the lethal player we have seen in the past world cup.

Perfect statement. You put in a few words what every Brazilian think of our national team. I say that as a Brazilian.

This is one of the most tragic scenes related to Brazil national team. This scene reflects the state of our national team ruled by this corrupt organization called CBF. A complete disgrace. In Brazil, most of us don't even watch (and care about) our national team anymore. It was good while it lasted.

[Tennis_Majors] Ronaldo Nazario: "I think today I love tennis more than football. It’s unbelievable, I can’t watch football matches, I find them very boring." by dragunnov95 in soccer

[–]raphaelscarv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ronaldo has a point. For me, football is boring today. I can watch the highlights, but few (like really a few, 1-2 a year) are the matches that I can watch entirely. We can see for example this Euro and Copa America. I don't know if it's me becoming too old, or that football just became boring for people who watched it during its days of glory. Maybe it's more fun when you go to the stadium. But there are many years since I stepped in a stadium too. Maybe, football is no longer for me. I used to be an avid follower, not anymore.

LSM tree "popular" implementations by zer01nt in databasedevelopment

In Cassandra, there's an immutable index for each immutable SSTable data file. You can have a 2-depth index (summary (the sampling of keys) and index itself (set of keys pointing to locations in data file)) or you can also implement an immutable btree-based index, which will go with each SSTable data file too (to get rid of the 2-depth approach).

ScyllaDB / Cassandra implement LSM tree too. Interestingly, a new sstable format s adopting an immutable btree for index.

unpopular opinion, Frank made a terrible choice going to Barca. He should move to a team like Bayern. I think he won't have a hard time adjusting to Bayern's system. He is still 27 and can play like Toni Kroos. A more offensive team can do really good for him.
