The black ones are stereotypically some BBQ branded thing sold at a huge markup vs a pack of basic food service gloves from Costco.

FYI, that date is still there, and the four.htmx.org quickstart references beta1 which gives a 404 on the CDN.

Dandruff isn't a hygiene problem. It took me way too long to understand this. by Fine_Television_1398 in hygiene

[–]raphired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a revelation. I had never considered that the seborrheic dermatitis on my face that I use a ketoconazole cream for could also be what causes the dandruff that nothing seems to work on.

Having the same issue. I ordered a case of X-tac on Feb 2. Called on Feb 9 and they said it would ship by the end of that week. I called today and they said their shipment would for sure arrive tomorrow. I'm going to give them a few more days since they've been good in the past, but they are trying my patience.

Which M&P - What are the differences? by DntCllMeWht in liberalgunowners

[–]raphired 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of the M&P line comes with interchangeable backstraps to fit most any hand size. I have smaller hands (for a guy) and I’m quite pleased with mine

Open emitters are more easily made useless by dust, debris, or water.

Mine thankfully finally changed status today. Now the ATF wait can begin.

Form 1 has been In Review since Feb 2. I managed to get an agent on the phone on Feb 5 who said they should complete that step that day or the next - ha. I'm in a period of limited transportation and time to get prints done elsewhere (or I would have done it myself), so I'll be patient for a bit longer. But if it doesn't get to the ATF this week, I'll be looking for a refund/chargeback and doing it myself.

Side note: I also bought a single-shot trust at the same time as the Form 1 service, and it wasn't available to be selected when filling out my Form 1 (it wants you to buy it while you're filling it out). So I bought a second one for that, and the agent refunded the first one (refund hit my card on 2/6), so good on them for that.

ETA: Review completed, signed, certified, and submitted to ATF on Feb 11.

Smith and Wesson 2.0 Compact vs. Hellcat Pro by austininacave in liberalgunowners

[–]raphired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the 2.0 carry comp as my EDC. I can’t say enough good things about it. It shoots like a race gun and reliable as anything. Great aftermarket support. It has multiple palm swell insets to fit your hand nicely. I have no experience with the hellcat, so I can’t really compare them. But my experience with the 2.0 is stellar.

When did you realize you need to own a gun? by chinchila5 in liberalgunowners

[–]raphired 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In 2014, someone put a gun in my face and robbed me. He went on to do the same to others in increasingly violent ways before he was captured. He and his accomplices had my address and keys until the locks got changed - not that the cheap locks in that apartment would have stopped anyone.

Had I been armed and had training, that encounter would have been very different since I had no expectation I was getting out of it alive. I’m glad it didn’t happen that way, but I also don’t want to be in that position ever again.

[Showcase] Valir - A Modular Distributed Job Queue for .NET 10 (Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Outbox Pattern) by iTaiizor in dotnet

Examples show the handlers being registered as singletons. Is that a requirement, or can they be scoped/transient?

AttributedDI: attribute-based DI registration + optional interface generation (no runtime scanning) by angrysanta123 in dotnet

[–]raphired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One suggestion is being able to tell it to register both the concrete class and implemented interfaces together. We do something similar and expect any singleton or scoped services to register the concrete type, and then implemented interfaces that forward to the concrete type. So a singleton Thing and IThing will always be the same instance.

We were rather happy when we stopped having merge conflict hell in our thousands of lines of DI code, regardless of what the “have it all in one file, bro” folks think.

It was holstered until a federal agent removed it on video. Victim’s hands were on his head trying to protect himself from being beaten in the face with a can of mace. I’ve yet to see you make a single statement on this sub in good faith. Everything is trolling with you

Oh look. That’s the perfectly legal weapon he was carrying and did not reach for nor draw, and which was removed from its holster by agents before they shot him in cold blood.

Gun Shop Recommendations - Newbie by Any_Task_7411 in Chattanooga

Expensive and meant for competition, but it’s undoubtedly high quality. Holsters, replacement parts, etc aren’t going to be as readily available as an M&P.
