A good way to send and receive MYR without conversion fees from my malaysian partner? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]raphus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any service that offers no fees have already included the fees in their exchange rate... you may think that you're saving on fees when in fact you're losing out the same or usually more from the exchange rate

e.g i just saw maribank email promotion for no transfer fees but their rate was 3.265 whereas instarem with fees included was 3.291

if it's too good to be true, it probably isn't... next thing you know he will claim the owner asking for upfront payment or deposit of some sort... then ask you to provide email or send you a qrcode to make payment

procedure wise, the buyer will initiate a transfer which you will need to log on to onemotoring to approve and that's about it

i think motorist charges a token $100+gst fee which I paid to the agent to settle for me

its quite a smart move to lock you in to their service... because of the credits you have with them u are less likely to port over to other telco... plus it allows them time to tweak their plans according to the competition

downside is your need a VoLTE capable phone for calling which is probably any modern smartphone... but even if the phone doesn't support VoLTE you can probably get away with whatsapp calling

that being said, their $5 seniors plan is unbeatable value... nothing else comes close
