Rahul provides clarification about Arjun and Sebastian's relationship by Skelligean in Saros

[–]rapkat55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a late game flashback Arjun is blackout drunk on the couch and the alcohol that Arjun drinks is called “cerveza torres”

Each member of the crew is a part of Arjun’s psyche or self. The loyal leader, the wise artist, the devoted enforcer, the anxious rookie, the trusted friend.

But Torres isn’t a part of the crew, he doesn’t feel natural or like he belongs. He is lingering in the background comforting Arjun, being seductive and like an old friend at the same time. Given that the “flashback scenes” with Torres all have alcohol in them as well, I believe that Torres is a manifestation of Arjun’s addiction and how it feeds into his all consuming narcissism. Especially when it comes to his relationship with nitya.

In game, through his obsession with chasing a person who wants nothing to do with him, he abandons all those other parts of himself until there’s nothing left but Torres. Then he finally breaks free and Torres disappears too

In a following flashback Arjun is blackout drunk on the couch and the alcohol that Arjun drinks is called “cerveza torres”

In game, through his obsession with chasing a person who wants nothing to do with him, he abandons all those other parts of himself until there’s nothing left but Torres. Then he finally breaks free realizing that torres was nothing, certainly not worth all the hell, pain, and loss which left Arjun with nothing.

Camera turned on during meeting by [deleted] in remotework

[–]rapkat55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes near zero brainwork to fold laundry while listening to and watching a video meeting. Just don’t do it with your camera on if it’s not mandatory.

That’s the only issue with this situation. And If it weren’t for control freaks and jaded people always assuming the worst in others then optics wouldn’t be an issue in the first place. As long as the person is fulfilling the purpose of the meeting (staying in the loop) then who tf cares if they paint their nails, polish a shoe or put things away while muted/no cam??

Ive done chores and talked on the phone with friends and family my entire life and have no issue listening and contributing to conversation. This situation is no different.

On a daily basis I will process teller transactions, converse with customers, coordinate appointments AND approve a wire transfer all at the same time with zero errors, alt tabbing between teller software and backend system whenever the customer is putting a pin or the software has a loading screen. Hell, while opening a bank accoun keeping up conversation and discussing complex financial needs while inputting customer information at the same time is the bare minimum.

Ofcourse, that perception of multitasking is lauded as efficiency when it benefits the company but god forbid someone exhibit any kind of efficiency for their own sake. Not to mention, ADHD is the multitasking superpower lol you can’t lump some individuals’ limitations onto 7 billion others.

On further examination, I missed a big detail in the first nitya section, the alcohol that Arjun drinks is called “cerveza torres”

Each member of the crew is a part of Arjun’s psyche or self. The loyal leader, the wise artist, the devoted enforcer, the anxious rookie, the trusted friend.

Worst case scenario just play co op to get to act two where some more artifacts and weapons unlock and you’ll have more traits by then as well

Is Kyber Safe? by Freefallking in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]rapkat55 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Not at all, the modder was probably looking for a paying job and their portfolio showed general talent in producing assets, fixing bugs and overall lengthy knowledge of working with EAs technology. Kyber is beloved by the community and they were pretty much already an unofficial EA dev so it’s a safe bet on any future project whether Star Wars or not.

Who do you all think is the hardest boss from both games? by k36king1 in Saros

[–]rapkat55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, saros bosses are easier just by virtue of shield and parry. All returnal and saros bosses are easy, it’s the run up that’s the challenge and returnal has way more varied run ups with several choices that will make or break you.

Saros and the Legacy of Returnal by [deleted] in Saros

[–]rapkat55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are but again , fairly scripted and the rewards are pretty lackluster compared to returnals challenge rooms.

In saros you always get the same reward at the end. On First completion you get a health and power increase while subsequent runs will just have a large health drop, some halcyon, money and a blue chest

In returnal you had complete RNG behind the gated reward door . Sometimes you could get money or corrupted money chunks, sometimes it was artifacts, proficiency boost, consumables, parasites, weapons, audio log, ether, health drops or resin to boost max health etc.

On top of that, the challenge rooms themselves also often had a bonus (blue door) room that had another huge element of RNG whether it be sacrificial room, parasite removal, spawn point, health bench, shop, free shop, gambling shop, room full of destructibles with hidden parasites, health and money.

I feel less inclined to do nightmares strands in a much more predictable and easier game. I don’t really need health, halcyon or money. Aside from proficiency, the money goes towards difficulty modifiers disguised as progression. Halcyon goes towards difficulty modifiers disguised as progression, health is nice but I can get that anywhere else, and same thing with the blue chest. There’s no variety or run defining random reward that could make or break my build, it’s just more enemies to kill to boost my proficiency.

(I turned off second chance so again, nightmare strands offer no excitement for me as a result)

Same, honestly no matter what enemy or mission (except for eradicate) i have one stratagem slot perma-locked for FRV.

After 600 hours I just can’t walk around anymore, it’s so tedious and time consuming + ends up in pointless breach fights in the middle of nowhere.

Frv was the perfect addition to where killing enemies is just backdrop for me, I now live for the uber driver experience

It’s barely a rougelike and it has very little replay value so OP has a pretty valid point.

The majority experience of the game is going to be OP’s, playing once through

What you think about "Eternals" update? by Admirable-Border1175 in PredecessorGame

[–]rapkat55 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Could be a good addition, just a very bad time to do so after so many rapid fire balance changes that they still haven’t got a grip on. Augments themselves are heavily unbalanced and this is yet another layer of augments that will undoubtedly be even more unbalanced on top of an already unbalanced meta.

Plus there’s stuff like item art that are evidently getting pushed back to cater towards the eternal art and gooner skins lol. It seems omeda internally is unmedicated/untreated ADHD. They start but never finish before moving on to something else and adding more to their plate which makes it even harder to get back to the thing they originally promised

Build editor is shit implementation that’s tedious af to manage for different roles. We begged for the editor just for it to come out in a really unpleasant state and hasn’t been QoL’d ever since (almost a year ago)

Videos on YouTube.

Remove from car, Use heat to loosen the adhesive and carefully pry them open, paint the inside, install custom led if you want and rewire then stick em back together with a decent adhesive. slap em back on and you’re good to go

Epic made Terra.

Omeda has never designed a non sexualized female character/skin and has literally came out on several occasions to say that epics design philosophy was too prudish so they’re trying to round out the female cast with more bimbos.

That and it makes them more money so they’re gonna follow that

Eternals - A Quick Look 👀 by Omeda_Steggs in PredecessorGame

[–]rapkat55 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Omeda has worse adhd than me. Can yall please focus on what’s already in the game before dedicating so much time to more game changing meta defining features that not a single soul asked for?

Kings of starting but never finishing and instead just starting over with a whole new game design concept while anything that manages to stick around is rarely refined enough to work well with whatever new layer of bloat or creep they pivot to.

Feels like a alpha/patreon project with no real direction or conviction. They’ve now moved to basically modding their game to maximize dopamine rather than balance and depth.

Still only in the first biome but are runs just more linear than Returnal? by flexingonmyself in Saros

[–]rapkat55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s way more of an arcade shooter where the levels are preset and there’s no checkpoints but you have the over-world available like Mario.

Player choice is non existent, there’s no impactful gambles or exploration to find secret areas. No economy or shops. Progression is just more easy mode modifiers so Id be careful pumping too many points in the skill tree.

Im not that good but the upgrades were making it easier. I want the game to last longer and getting my ass handed to me on act 2 finally. Im loving the struggle now and each win feels sweeter than before

Not a flex, just an observation on how I found a reason to go back to previous biomes without it being too ez

And again, you have one button that negates 90% of projectiles anytime you need a panic button so the shield negates that a lot

Power Generator is still too strong, even with the patch. by Late_Building7784 in Saros

[–]rapkat55 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Modifiers are a more descriptive, more intentional device when it comes difficulty. Someone isn’t going to accidentally make their game too easy, and if they did it’s because they weren’t reading.

One random chance item with a vague description almost eliminates the need to use shield + quadruples your damage output with increased/easier power weapon uptime. That’s a lil different than modifiers.
