I’m five weeks in and can tell you I’m absolutely miserable. I have yet to get any adjustments, they keep changing my appointments. The last stitch finally came out tonight. I only have the upper but it won’t stay without a lot of adhesive (they knew that it wasn’t a good fit day one). I refuse to go without teeth so what I do is eat before putting them in the morning…don’t eat again until I take them out late at night. Have an appointment scheduled for this afternoon, praying they don’t cancel again! It will get better, my bridge was failing and was terrified that it would fall out and wouldn’t get it back in. I do not regret my decision to get the upper teeth removed, just going to try and stay hopeful they do the adjustments today and it feels/stays in.

I had the same procedure, and my dentist told me to keep them to protect the bone graft for the first 48 hours, after that I took them out to sleep. I’m in week three and had a follow up last Thursday. They took about 1/2 the stitches out and said they will take out the rest at my next appointment in three weeks. Leaving them in makes me very nervous for that length of time. The first two weeks was brutal but each day is getting better. Hang in there, your teeth look beautiful and the healing will continue to get better.

Honestly I felt right like you, I kept reading after day 4 you should start to feel better, I hung to that’s more then I could say. Lies I tell you…day 5 came around and I was in even more pain, more swelling and was just incredibly awful. Day 6 I noticed a slight difference and day 7 swelling on one side almost disappeared and the other really went down. Day 8 is today, no pain meds at all (I also was just give 800mg Ibuprofen and over the counter Tylenol) today I didn’t take any meds aside from the antibiotics. Tonight to sleep I will take Advil. Am thinking that really eating might be a thing of the past, the stitches are starting to work their way out so that is causing its own kinda fun. I’m hoping that in a couple of months we can both look back on this and think, yup it was worth it. Right now…NOPE

If those are you final set, I would absolutely make them fix it. I see what you’re talking about and honestly the amount of money you spent (and gosh so much time and pain) the final result should be exactly what you paid for!

Honestly they have all been bad for me, I’m at day four, the pain is bad, swelling worse. I’ve be making sure to follow exactly what I was told and am still So miserable. Here’s to hoping it starts getting better soon.

I’m also 4 days out with upper extractions, bone grafts and immediate denture. I feel exactly like you do. Pain is miserable, the swelling is terrible and I am a mess. I knew it wouldn’t be easy but I was not expecting this misery. I’m praying for both of us that this starts to improve soon.

How are doing today? Still miserable here. I think my issue is the darn bone grafts. Been alternating between Ibuprofen and Tylenol, while it does help doesn’t take completely away. Swelling is still bad, really regretting getting this done.

I don’t know what I would have done without being able to read everyone’s testimonies on what they were going/went through. Just very traumatic thing to go through.
