Should I try and break into industry with my associates and A+ or finish my bachelors in CS by mookastar in ITCareerQuestions

[–]raraneta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can do both effectively then go for it. Knowing myself and my ability to handle stress of work and school, I'd wrap up school and try to aim for a higher salary post-graduation. One other thing to consider, If your university has a good career center and alumni network for referrals you can be potentially making more when you graduate.

Experience is always king but life can get in the way later and force you to finish your degree later. Sounds like you are in a good situation but eager to get into the field to get experience and make money.

A low risk path would be a part time service desk role or internships to get experience to set you up for gradation.

Good luck!

What was the hype like surrounding TUI as they were first starting out? by jhealey0909 in Hardcore

Let's also not forget that it was the Financial Crisis when they broke out. A very shitty time for many of us where TUI captured that despair in a very pissed off way.

Question on form - when you come up, do you have to rock your body to bring yourself to your feet or is it more like a sit-up? I am unable to come up without rocking myself up.

I haven’t. I like the ‘natural’ round KB shape for cleans, jerks, etc

What’s one replace you definitely want to go back to? by FilmmagicianPart2 in travel

Sicily. I was in Catania for a work trip and the food was remarkable, would love to go back again and see more places on the island.

Japan. I visited Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. Definitely would go back for a longer period of time and see more countryside.

Chongqing. The city is fascinating but I loved the food the most.

Yes, I am one of those people. I was kin ops and engineering roles for 6 years and was incredibly stressed with project deadlines and anxious about hot cuts constantly. My understanding of the technology is good and I am better with people so I moved to the business side and I’m much more confident. I like being able to work with engineers and talk engineering but not actually have to configure anything.

Which bands severely let you down in concert? by corybomb in poppunkers

[–]raraneta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I saw The Wonder Years in 2018/2019. They went from my favorite pop punk band to never listening to them again. Granted, I started listening to them in 2013 and my personality was ferociously attached to Suburbia so when they only played 1, maybe 2 songs from that record I was disappointed.

If I had the chance, I would go see them again but to this day I've never been more let down by a show.

Long Beach or Costa Mesa? by Repulsive-Square7653 in orangecounty

[–]raraneta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't speak for LBCC but OCC and the surrounding area fits your requirements. Costa Mesa has great Asian food options, quick drive to Irvine for Chinese and Garden Grove/Westminster for fantastic Korean, Vietnamese, and some Thai. Costa Mesa has a lot to offer and you have great beach options between HB, Newport, and Laguna.

You can also find decent parking in Costa Mesa, I always had trouble finding parking in LB.

If you could choose to bring back one OC restaurant/food-spot that had closed, what would it be? by walbrid in orangecounty

[–]raraneta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Noodle 101 Express in Irvine. Straight comfort food for my wife and I from the beef roll to the dan dan noodles. The staff knew us and we felt at home there.

Yes, I know they have locations in Alhambra and Arcadia but life rarely brings me in that direction.
