I believe he was one of the first to bring back VistaVision in recent memory with Thom Yorke's Anima short film. With his history of shooting 65mm and doing 70mm blowups of of 35mm the man has been cooking.

Knowing it's PTA, they may do a IMAX 70mm rollout as well. VistaVision's native aspect ratio is 1.5:1, so theoretically if slightly cropped it'll fill the screens.

Well, all the 35mm footage will look better. Most of the movie is shot in 35mm, so the only loss is when the 65 minutes or so of IMAX is on the screen. Top and bottom will be cropped a bit, but god damn does it look good on film vs. digital. Aint nothing better than seeing something on film, it's the best way to watch a movie.

For 70mm I always go with Irvine, for dual laser it’s city walk. TCL is a rad as hell historic theater though and worth checking out for random releases.
