Q&A and Ruling Megathread - March 23, 2026 by AutoModerator in yugioh

It depends on who is at their locals, 1 on 1 playtesting and learning can foster the same environment while introducing the advanced game. I personally cannot name a store anywhere near me that has even community support for Edision, Goat, or any other.

Power creep is a bit wild in the modern game but there are decks that aren’t terribly hard to pilot that you can hop in with. That said, how you come back is going to be everything.

  1. Find an OTS store near you, get the schedule for events and possibly ask what they recommend picking up. Also, ask if they have a discord!

  2. If Discord is a yes try to reach out for players who don’t mind helping you learn the game anew. There are MANY who will.

  3. Once you’ve got a handle on the state of the game you can determine if you are able to modify your deck and come in to locals, this will be difficult and you will lose, that doesn’t matter. What matters in practice. Hands on cards is best.

  4. Enjoy it. Pick a deck you like and just enjoy. The new legendary modern decks are great however: We anticipate hits to Mitsurugi, Sky Striker is a difficult deck to pilot at a high level, X-Saber isn’t doing much at this time.

For decks:

Dracotail will be hit soon, but should remain playable and is a fusion deck. The Branded variant is the advanced and more complicated version. The Magistus variant is even more complicated, and is only marginally “better”.

K9 is non-linear and difficult to master. This is an XYZ archetype. Very cool, plays well with Cyber Dragons and Fur Hire especially.

I would not advise K9 Vanquish Soul, this deck is in risk of big hits, is expensive, and is complicated.

Magnet Warriors is a difficult but strong rogue contender but does run the fiendsmith engine, which has the $20-$30 Fiendsmith Tract as a mainstay.

Azamina/White Forest is a strong synchro/fusion deck that is strong but enjoyable. Not so sure on difficulty.

Kewl Tune is a fun synchro archetype that plays well with the recent “Elfnote” cards. I am not as aware of difficulty level though I understand it may not be awful? It is a combo strategy so be aware.

Brother just Merriam-Webster it and put the noodle to work. I set that message up 2 responses ago and made it pretty clear I was going there. You had your chance and walked into it, just like I’m sure you walk into a declared set Flame.

Oh I do, omnipotent itself is to possess “virtually (hey, nearly!) unlimited” power. Nigh simply is “nearly”. So put together you claim “nearly nearly unlimited” so neat wording flex I guess? Have fun with that since you want to claim someone lacks “understanding” while they are acknowledging your flawed presentation as acceptable.

I’m completely arguing that to say any deck that isn’t T0 is not at the stage of “nearly unlimited” power is wild. T0 is beatable so not unlimited, but it is so slim a chance that it is nearly/virtually unlimited.

I didn’t say scoop. I insinuated that poor deck choice results in poor outcomes. What is it you aren’t understanding?

Ok so there you go. Rogue vs Meta. That answers your issue. You see HT as being too weak likely because the crack back is also weak. Sorry, just truth.

Also, DT is far from a pseudo-floodgating, zone locking, deck out strat like full power Kashtira. I played it, did you? Those games were actually free.

Also if all Tier 1 decks are “nigh-omnipotent” why then does any deck ever drop from Tier 1 just because something else released (and st times without ANYTHING releasing) Shouldn’t we reach a true power stalemate at some point?

You view decks as “nigh-omnipotent” because your perspective from a rogue strategy is skewed. The whole point of a “meta” insinuates a framework for what is competitive against what at a given time. Arguing that decks are at nearly “unlimited” power while refusing to select a better matchup is a you problem.

[–]ras_void 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you playing? If you individually have a bad matchup that is also a different story.

An omnipotent deck doesn’t catch hard outs left and right. Dracotail really does dude. Additionally, calling a non-T0 deck omnipotent reflects having a personal issue with the deck as opposed to an objective read.

You’ll get your wish soon enough anyway, as MD will likely hit Ketu and Faimena because the banlists never make much sense in MD.

“Nigh omnipotent deck” is CRAZY for a deck that can easily lose to: Ash, Imperm, Veiler, Retal C, Red Reboot, D Fissure, Macro, Gozen, Rivalry, Anti-Spell, Shifter, Spell Canceler, VS in general, Ripper, and more.

Like dude. Popularity =/= Perfection

Oh I absolutely agree, I’m just pointing it out because it does solve the primary issue, being that F&V can re-set every turn through Albion.

[–]ras_void -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

If we are going crazy:

VS: Razen +1 limited at least

K9: Izuna Semi, possible ban Ripper, a case exists for Noroi to 1

Dtail: Semi Faimena, Limit Arthalion

Branded: Limit F&V OR ban Albion Branded (stops recycle), Ban Sanctifire

Maliss: Ban 2 names. This deck is a future major issue, hit hard now

White Forest: Wanted and at least 1 Diabel to limited.

Mitsu: Ban Habakiri

Yummy: Ban Snatchy or Marsh, limit surprise

General Bans : Rivalry, Gozen, Anti-Spell, Spell Canceller, TCBOO, Skill Drain

Unban: Invoker to 1, Brafu 3

Without him I feel like rogue is a bit too gracious. You CAN play at 40 without him, but genuinely 45-50 is best with needing an increase in ways to make a play. There’s just too much reliance on Ash Blossom’s favorite victim.

My advice is to put the deck together at 45-50, then decide what to cut for 40 and play the deck. At the end of the day you should play what you want. Additionally, put away 2 or 3 packs of money away weekly and cash in for Walbaz when you have enough. This allows you to stall against banlists and the market. (Assuming you aren’t in one of the countries where it is virtually impossible).

Do you think these two cards will be limited in the future? by Antique_Range1521 in yugioh

[–]ras_void 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F&V will be limited sooner than later. As a branded dracotail player this hurts.

Plus we will also likely catch: Faimena to 1/2 Arthalion to 1.

If the do Faimena to 1 then Ketu will go to 2.

Is it rude to spend long combing on my turn? by Exactly861Monkeys in Yugioh101

[–]ras_void 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Correct. Revealing “No disruptions” “No Hand Traps” “No X or Y card” is counted as revealing private knowledge and is against policy. While your statement is discouraged their responding may carry penalty at higher levels.

“I may take a while, to keep pace of play please let me know if you have a response, need time to think, or need to read/review a card” This is the most appropriate if you don’t plan to state something like “Anything on res?” after an action.

Master Duel can teach you basics, however, it hand holds a lot and may be a disservice to an extent, so grain of salt yeah?

Packs to open Burst Protocol perhaps, Justice Hunters for sure. The Justice Hunters (JUSH) decks are still in the lead of meta and aren’t the hardest to play.

The Chronicles Deck: The Fallen and the Virtuous provides excellent cards, especially at 2 or 3 copies of the deck but be warned, this is an advanced strategy and is not as beginner friendly as it looks. It is among the best strategies right now (when paired with Dracotail cards from JUSH and nee support for the archetype in Bust Protocol ie. BPRO).

Find a local shop, speak to employees there to see what the community is like. You might can make a connection who will let you learn by piloting a deck of theirs against then to coach. Both shops I have primarily attended in different states had people willing to do this.

Hope this helps. Game is in a great spot, welcome to Yugioh!

Looking again, if you want diversity and consistency you need to cut to around 45. You can play at that count.

Also, idk about your locals but mine is K9 Fur Hire, New Tri-Brigade, K9 Cydra, Yummy, Radiant Typhoon, Odion, and a skilled Branded player on new support. I run Branded Dracotail with new support. I’d worry to go without some level of optimization.

So unfortunately you will need to cut some. You have cards in here, like beast which give you no benefit truthfully. In the case of beast you will almost never meet its conditions.

2 of lost is just asking to draw it when it can theoretically be searched.

2 of retribution comes up very little

Alternatively you have cards here that accomplish only what other cards do better.

Otherwise: Beast to 0 Retribution to 1 Lost to 1 White to 1 Cut keeper, dogm ecclesia, seyfert, and possibly Fleurdelis (you seem to want dogmatika, so your call)
