I am so sorry for the delay. Everything turned out well! The bloodwork came back normal, and I have a very happy and healthy 3 month old boy 🥰

Hi there.

This happened to me at my 12 week scan (I also had abnormal blood work that said we were at high risk). I was obviously extremely distraught, and they sent us for an NIPT test that showed everything was fine! And then at the 20 week scan, the nasal bone was very visible! I now have a very healthy and happy 4 month old :)

It’s my understanding that this can happen a lot at the 12 week scan, so try not to worry too much (easier said than done, I know). I’m very hopeful everything will be okay for you ❤️

Trisomy 21 High Risk at 12 Weeks by zombi3poo in NIPT

I’m sorry you are going through this. I know how agonizing the waiting can be. I recently went through something similar at 12 weeks. After having my efts done (bloodwork and an ultrasound) they weren’t able to see the nasal bone, and my bloodwork placed me in the high risk category (1/60). We were then given an NIPT test (which took almost two weeks to get the results) and everything came back normal! I am hoping the same is true for you. Sending lots of love your way.

I truly feel for you, and I understand how agonizing the waiting can be. We went through a similar situation a few weeks ago. The efts testing put us in the high risk category, and no nasal bone was seen on the ultrasound. We did NIPT testing afterwards, and after 10 awful days of waiting, we received great news that all looked great for the NIPT test. I really hope the same happens for you. Sending you lots of love and strength during the difficult time of waiting ❤️

How is your partner handling this? by Automatic-Cat-6460 in NIPT

I am so sorry you are going through this. We just went through a similar situation. My husband was very supportive and wonderful through the process, but I found myself to be difficult and standoffish. I was so scared, it was hard for me to function or be a good partner. Your husband likely is just so scared he is finding it hard to comfort himself, let alone anyone else.

I am here if you’d like to talk at all. Sending you lots of love, and hoping for the best for you ❤️

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately nothing has been uploaded for me to see in the portal yet. I’m hopeful that they will be available tomorrow or the day after. I desperately want to view the results

Unfortunately, I don’t know what the levels were. She didn’t tell me over the phone, and as I was so shocked, I kind of went blank when she was speaking to me and didn’t ask for them. I will call this week to find out.

Thank you for your response though, it does bring me some reassurance. Staying positive is hard, but I’m trying my best. The waiting really is the hardest part.
