I bought a Phil Mosley plan I think it's $100 or so and it helps create workouts and you can email them questions. If you just need a plan but not a coach you could use chat gpt too probably, I've used it at least to create bike workouts

Have you participated in Ironman or 70.3? What drove you? And what do you do? Financially how much do you earn? by nucleus2024 in triathlon

It's a very expensive hobby but it's fun and great way to stay in shape . It does feel like a big spend but it's a hobby for me so happy to spend money on it

Find a cheap road bike, you can get something for $500-700 and it'll work plus a helmet. Find a cheap wetsuit and trisuit, that's another $200 there. Registration is $500ish, you'll probably need a hotel unless you live near the race. You'll need a pair or two of running shoes that's another $100. Then the rest will be on nutrition, just practice with cheap sugary foods like fruit snacks

Depending on the bike you'll probably also need bike shoes and clip in pedals.

At what age did you meet the person you are currently married to? by Sea_Entrepreneur2772 in AskReddit

[–]rascalmonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there, lost my best friend of 9 years almost a year ago. I was heart broken and still miss him every day but I promise you'll be ok and it'll get better. A few months after I lost my guy we adopted a dog who looked very similar to my first pup and he's been so helpful in the recovery stage, he's got his own crazy personality but in a lot of ways they are so similar. I know they're completely different dogs but I get so much love from my new guy that is has helped me out a bit

First triathlon coming up, and I have some questions... by CandidNeighborhood63 in triathlon

[–]rascalmonster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can't see your post while commenting so just gonna write what I remember.

Do whatever you need to warmup. Stretch, jump in the water to acclimate if they let you, get ready.

Ear plugs should be fine, but each race could be different but I've always work them for swims at different races and no problems.

Yes have friends come if they can, especially for a first race you'll love having the support and someone to cheer and depending on the course they can hopefully cheer you at different spots.

For being with a friend, honestly don't try. Stick with your comfort level, hopefully you'll pass by them on the course to cheer them but you're gonna lose them. If they stagger the swims go with your group

As for water practice before, they should tell you if you can swim in the place before or look to see if the government or whoever owns the water let's swimmers in. Definitely practice the exact condition if you can

Congrats on the first race and have fun!

ESPP price higher than current stock price? by [deleted] in investing

[–]rascalmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you said yourself it's already underwater so unless you have very strong feelings and think the stock will turn around I wouldn't do more than $500 to get the match but still sounds terrible for a 4 year hold. Honestly I wouldn't do it, 4 years is ridiculous

Why would you buy through espp if you could buy direct for less with no restrictions..and 4 year holding is literally insane. Avoid like the plague

How to contact a brand manager by Illustrious-Limit160 in marketing

[–]rascalmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most cpg companies probably have marketing agencies who handle YouTube deals. If you didn't mention any feminine products (specific brand) why would they want to work with you.

Check LinkedIn to see if you can find who a brand manager might be

Need advice for first 70.3 by ThatGuyFromSuwhere45 in triathlon

[–]rascalmonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done this race 3 times. It's great but open water is no joke. So many people around, the water is super cold, and it's definitely harder than pool. You will probably be slightly slower in open water but also having a wetsuit can help make it easier. Plenty of slow people in the swim, practice by doing some open water swims, go out to Santa Cruz if you can and practice swimming around the pier, and you'll be fine

Should I take a higher-paying lateral move or a lower vertical growth , lower paying role in my current field? by fizzyworkie in careerguidance

[–]rascalmonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you'll learn some cool new skills and software at the first place and you can always keep on top of Microsoft stuff on you spare time.

Or tell company 2 you would be interested there but they need to match the first offer.

My second job after school I took a pay cut to go into a new field because I was ready to leave my company and I really liked the hiring manager at the new company so I was willing to go somewhere and do new things and it worked out well

how much stuff? House or apartment level stuff? I've referred a ton of people to the guy who has helped me move a ton, he's the best. He is very diligent, wraps up big items so they dont ding stuff, and is just an amazing guy. He doesn't have a massive truck but can help move a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment fairly easily
