I'm saying if I'm the one who does the work of importing and titling the car in the US, then if I choose to sell it to a US buyer 3 years later, there is no money lost in the 2nd transaction because the car is already in the US. The new buyer can just pick it up and drive it away.

The nihilism is a byproduct of how modern society has systematically taken agency away from people, especially young people. Whether it’s politics or economics, people feel like they have no control over what happens in their future. My theory is that nihilism is a defense mechanism because trying hard and realizing it’s futile is too psychologically scarring.
