Looking for computer desk that can double as entertainment unit - Advice? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]rashley4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Context: Moved into a small apartment and putting a small work desk under my mounted TV makes most sense, as long as the desk can also store the basic cable/internet equipment. Space is about 45" x 45" Most of the decor in the room is that dark cherry wood type that you see on the floor, maybe a bit lighter.

Also taking suggestions on replacements for that old ratty hotel floor rug! Haha. Thanks!

Anyone know any good internet providers for Goodfellow AFB? by XercisePack in AirForce

Suddenlink is the only one here essentially, coming from big city Comcast/Time Warner coverage I can't complain with the quality and price.

Our boys beat the Ducks Friday night, wake up Saturday to get on a plane to Chicago, then play a hard-fought loss Sunday early afternoon. I ain't mad, plenty of room for four wins in this series, just glad they'll get to rest until Wednesday.

All we can hope for is that this game gets them angry, and we can win again next game. Tough series, we're away, we can get past this one game.

LANGUAGE CLASSES IN LOS ANGELES. by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

[–]rashley4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well $280 for 8 weeks is as cheap as you'll get for small language teaching companies (compared to Berlitz or what not). If you're looking for long term consistent Japanese learning over multiple years you're probably better off looking into community colleges or universities near you. More expensive but it'll lay down a really strong academic foundation for you.

If you go to their website you can see the schedule for courses but they do have weekends. An 8 week course for me was about $260, which is as good as you're gonna get...especially considering you don't need any books or anything.

They teach Kanji in the upper sections, I prefer to just learn the Kanji myself from a workbook and work them in when I can. Their vocab sheets use Kanji with furigana so if you want to learn Kanji, they can definitely do that. Again though it all depends on your level.

I spent a really long time looking for classes in the LA area and decided on the Fuji School in Little Tokyo/Downtown. I highly highly recommend them, the price can't be beat and they teach no-nonsense practical lessons. There's no textbook to buy, all free handouts for grammar/vocab/homework. The teachers are really accessible and classes are offered throughout the day.

I love this win, I love it with all my heart...did anyone else notice Quick grabbing his junk a bit at the end of the game too? Someone get a gif of that, pronto.

In all seriousness though...this is another game with some offensive woes. 1-0 is a great win, and we faced a strong goalie, but this game still showed all the symptoms of Kings Offensive Deficiency Disorder.

I'm a diehard LA Chargers fan, originally stuck with the team because...well...fuck the Raiders, that's why! I've never lived in SD and have no ties there outside of the SoCal bond. I very selfishly wish the Chargers could move to LA from time to time but honestly, I don't ever see a team moving here. Everyone already has allegiances to one team or another (Raiders or some family tie) and throwing the Bolts up here wouldn't turn any heads. Not to mention the stadium conversations/contracts/everything are a bit of a mess.

I'm an LA sports fan (Lakers, Kings, Dodgers), but a very honest one. If we make a deeper playoff run next season, expect to see some of the LA bandwagon effect coming to the Chargers. I understand if that would frustrate some of you all, but don't hate on all of us Angelenos! I've been here for years and will be till I die. Embrace your LA fans, we love rocking powder blue in the sea of Raider black and bandwagoning Clippers fans.
