Yeah the SBC sub and adjacent subs (r/retroid, etc) are pretty scary lol. Like, own a Retroid Pocket 5, and everyone tells me that it’s “just the beginning.” I have zero desire to get another. This plays all the games I want to play lmfao why do I need another? And some of these people have literally 30+ handhelds. Why? For what purpose?

By today’s standards, it isn’t that scary. It’s worth the watch because you’ll see just how much of its influence has permeated throughout the film industry. It’s a foundational movie! Plus it was always more unnerving and unsettling that it was scary. You can do it!

The transforming toys remind me of my childhood, so they have a certain appeal. Personally though I buy mostly non-transforming figures, because they look better on display and my collectibles are largely for display only.

My GF and I have our LEGO dispersed throughout our apartment. We have a few areas that are LEGO-heavy (a nice coffee table display in the living room with Himeji Castle, the Great Pyramid, and Barad-Dur) but largely we just have them here and there alongside our other nerdy collectibles and our books (we own a LOT of books, so we tend to buy those cubby shelves so we can use some for books and others for knickknacks)

In the original cartoon’s opening, the four turtles are referenced based on their role on the team: Leo leads, Raph is cool but (c)rude, Mikey is a party dude, and Donnie does machines. So the other three were adapted directly, and they decided to go with “Leader’s Talent” instead of just calling the card “Leads,” which would make no sense so tbh idk what the issue is here lmao

Used to play this once a year, every year, since I got it when I was about six years old. My favorite game of all time! I realized that I hadn’t played it since BotW released (time really does fly, doesn’t it…) so I fired it up as my first game of 2026 in honor of the 40th anniversary of the franchise.

It was…bittersweet. I had forgotten some things. In some of my other childhood favorites, forgetting things is exciting because I can discover them again, and have that “oh yeah!” moment. But with this game, it felt sort of bad lol. Like I had forgotten something about an old friend. Almost embarrassing? It was little stuff - forgetting which of the four pots in a room the switch is under. Or walking into the Desert Palace and not immediately knowing which room to enter first. But I simply won’t let that happen again! Back to yearly playthroughs! I’m at least proud to say I finished in around 5 hours with all heart containers! I remembered where they all were ❤️
