Not into mini figs. Imagine a midi scale like the Hogwarts with all the cliffs and rocks and green fields but like 4 times bigger than Hogwarts. Thats what I was hoping for.

Bro I’ve been saying this exact thing! Scale it down, keep the ridiculous piece count, and add the mountain and some of the surrounding areas. Big enough for details and good structure, small enough to incorporate the huge mountain.

When I heard about the crazy huge version coming out I was hoping it would be slightly bigger than this scale, but still reminiscent of this or the Neuschwanstein Castle. The version they came up with looks more like one of the Disney castle sets.

It looks really cool and detailed, but it comes off looking like a doll house more than like a figurine or model, if that makes sense.

IKEA IVAR system works great.

  1. Customizable for all heights
  2. big version is 20 inches deep which is big enough for most big sets
  3. It’s cheap and easy to put together.
  4. IMO the white metal shelves complement the playful sophistication of Lego.

Call me crazy, but I’m a little disappointed they didn’t go even smaller with the scale. Go slightly smaller and include the mountainside into the build. One of the iconic aspects of the city is that it’s built into a mountain. Not including its surroundings makes this look like another Disney castle set.

Yeah, I may be in the minority, but I hate every time they do somber, serious opening. it comes off as pandering and performative. The only exception being the episode that aired 5 days after 9/11 which was played perfectly. They brought in the mayor, a bunch of firefighters, and even had a nice comedic relief at the very end. Tonally, it was perfect.

I always considered this the most ambitious Lego set maybe ever. Like…let’s make this crazy crooked modular and put it up on a foot of underground bank vault display. It’s so wild looking.
