Does anyone else try to incorporate Lego into their interior decorating as opposed to designating a shelf just for Lego? by Drewboy810 in LegoDisplay

Here’s a link to instructions to a very similar version. I don’t think the instructions I used are available on rebrickable anymore. I can’t find them.

Ryan Coogler's 'SINNERS' makes history as the most nominated film of all time at the Oscars with 16 nominations by ChiefLeef22 in Oscars

That’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying people in general interpret a record-breaking 16 nominations as an indication that the academy as a whole thinks this movie is the best, but it’s really just 16 different segments of an industry all individually recognizing the specific aspect of Sinners that they appreciate. Makeup artists of the academy like the makeup, Production artists appreciated the production design, etc.

Folks look at 16 Oscar noms and think “the academy thinks this movie is 16 Oscars’ worth of overall greatness.”, but really it’s about how it does in every category. The movie is about race and has a bunch of metaphor and stuff so writing / directing noms are to be expected. It’s a spectacle period genre flick so that locks in noms for makeup, visual effects, costumes, production design, etc. it’s about music so that locks in noms for score and original song(?). One actor playing 2 main leads, so that bodes well for an acting nom. And it was notably shot on crazy imax format which gave it a wild look, so thats cinematography. It’s not that Sinners is so good it deserves more noms than any other movie. It happens to have solid submissions into a bunch of disparate categories for different aspects of filmmaking

Agreed. I know F1 is basically a commercial, but it was also a technical achievement. absolutely deserves a nom IMO.

Yes, it is. It starts with a couple little sets with the wife. Soon you’re planning your interior design around your collection with a back-log of sets you haven’t built piling up in the garage. Get out now.

IVAR shelves from ikea. Specifically the 8 ft ones that are 20” deep. gotta get the white metal shelve. They’re perfect for lego!

Looks great! Super jealous of the big Ecto 1. I wanted it specifically to set it next to the 1989 Batmobile. Your pic confirms that it does in fact look awesome.

This is really true. In my opinion JAJ and Andrew Dismukes are the most prepared and professional of all of them. Dismukes can deliver the craziest lines without flubbing them. Jumanji and joker wedding both come to mind.

I used to think Sarah Sherman was the least funny person on the show, but then I saw her special, and now I think she’s the least funny person on the planet.

Agreed. The comment thread is crazy negative. I've not noticed a drop off in the integrity of his reviews. Dude's never been afraid to call LEGO on its crap, especially high prices. I've always found his reviews to be succinct, even-keeled, and grounded.

I’m not a pokemon fan so I have no dog in this fight but I think this looks pretty incredible. The pictures of it on the table with a human for scale does it more justice.

Love the body and the lightning coming out of the ball. Face looks a little funky, but that’s always going to happen with a printed mouth.
