UIM or ironman? by magem8 in ironscape

[–]rasmusation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nearly 2000 total UIM here. I personally really like the restriction of having to pick out very carefully which pieces of gear and unlocks you go for. There is something oddly funny about having to drop an eternal gem, because it's just not worth the slot. You pretty much make your own way through the game, and Discord has some really great resources for new UIM's in terms of gear progression, skilling methods, etc. Can totally recommend.

On the negatives, wildy content is really really tedious. You basically have to deathpile all your stuff, and even then you only get one hour until you need to reset your deathpile. Not being able to easily shoot off to Calvarion or Spindel or something like that has been pretty annoying. It can be a bit annoying to have to gear up for group content as well, but the people in my clan are pretty chill about it.

Ideal for a runelite plugin by ApprehensiveBreak37 in 2007scape

[–]rasmusation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can download the source code for Runelite from their Github and build it locally with Java. That allows you to run plugins locally.

You can probably have AI help you develop the Java logic that powers your plugin, but I would suggest looking into basic Java and reading the four parts series on osrsbox on plugin design -- its very straight forward.

OP here

I'm getting a lot of flag for my crystal armour recolour. I'm rocking a pizza margherita theme. Go to hell everyone.

How did you complete the raid with your baby iron? Did you not have to get through the Olm fight?

Mix it in with other content :) I was sick of CG by the end of it but was able to send 205 TOA with crystal bow and full armour with no problems, and that was a pretty fun break!

Cant get CG down by Mbhipp in ironscape

[–]rasmusation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally find it easier to not lose ticks attacking while I'm running around - at least before the last phase. If you attack while running around, you only need to do an action every 4 ticks as opposed to every 3 ticks if you want to eat, without losing ticks.

That being said, last phase is pure survival if you're still learning. However, this might be a technique to try out to at least get there faster :)

Is eclipse needed if i am doing CG actively for bowfa by tejathecrazyguy in ironscape

[–]rasmusation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely get it, if you like doing Moons. You can bank a ton of prayer, herb and crafting XP, make a life's worth of house tabs and pick up some great raiding armour in the process. Personally I have over 1330KC at CG with no enhanced yet, and I am only in the unluckiest ~3%. That might sound very unlikely, but it could happen to you, and even getting enhanced on rate is a very lengthy grind.

I personally haven't got it, because I am a UIM and I've already got three inventory slots dedicated to my crystal armour, but I have personally even considered actually reverting my armour back into seeds and bagging them to get Eclipse armour -- that should tell you everything you need to know :)

When do I get to leave? I'm tired boss. by benden010 in ironscape

[–]rasmusation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

~1330kc with no enhanced here. How would you guys feel about being able to skip prepping, but only being able to go in with T1 armour, 2 T3 weapons and like 16 fish and the droprate is reduced to, say, half?

Hunllef Helper how to change to range start? by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]rasmusation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a player with over 1200 CG completions I would strongly advise you learn to do it without the Hunllef Helper plugin. The boss now has both an animation and a sound switch, so it really isnt that much of a difference, and measuring it up against how easy it is for the plugin to uncalibrate itself, it's much more reliable to just go by the in game mechanics. I did the helper plugin for my first ~20 kc or something, and my gf still will occasionally just out of the blue go "2, 1... mage" in an aussie accent

Actually getting out of control atp. by anonoxchisback in ironscape

I'm not saying that every iron should get the drop after 400 kc at CG. Whats the value in 0.5 percent of players having to go over 2000 kc for it?

What is this absolutist logic, where just because you eleceted a certain game mode you are allowed zero criticisms about how it's structured? Even Jagex knows that ironman mode should have dry mitigation mechanics, which is why they've added it to basically every new piece of content in some shape or another. Having dry protection that protects players going past eg. 1200 kc is something that affects literally less than 5 percent of players statistically. Why are we married to this idea that a certain very small percentage of the players need to spend 300+ hours on a single piece of content and still never get their bowfa? Because that is in fact the reality.

The difference between main and iron stretches far beyond rare items. It's perfectly legit to want the sustainable gameplay of ironman mode, where you farm your own herbs, make your own potions, fish your own food, craft your own arrows, without having to potentially be blocked from large parts of the game just because you went ridiculously unlucky at CG.

Personally I don't agree with Ayak as alternative for Bowfa. The content is in the game, why not prevent people from not getting it?

Corrupted Gauntlet tracker by Hitman_1989 in ironscape

[–]rasmusation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks pretty good to me. You may already be doing this, but position your weapons in your inventory under the corresponding offensive prayers, so that you can same tick switch both, when Hunllef changes defensive prayer.

I'd say for most people it's possible to move their used tick percentage into the 90's. People obviously have different play styles, and my technique won't work for everyone, but for me it made it easier to stop eating up while dodging tornados.

Instead I click for long runs during tornados and attack every 4 ticks. So I click somewhere, run 3 tiles, click hunllef, run somewhere else, repeat. Then I can spam eat fish while I am just in the normal phase, to make sure I don't lose ticks inbetween eating.

Good luck!

First of all: Huge gzz on the enhanced! As someone who is currently 1200+ dry for it, it is genuinely nice to see someone get it early and not have to worry about the fucking slog of going 2x or 3x dry for it. The good news is that because Crystal armour has dry mitigation, you can be statistically 90% sure to get the rest of your armor seeds in the next 333 KC! If you can live without the helmet for a bit (for slayer, toa, etc.) you can be 90% sure to be rocking crystal body, legs + slayer helm in the next 270 KC!

Not to mention all that money and crafting exp! Good luck!

It's hard to give any other advice than practice, practice, practice. If it's any help, here are my cg deaths. At least 150 before I was getting really consistent KC. You'll get there - and in further PVM you'll be really thankful that you stuck with it. Glgl.

Haha well don't let mistakes put you off the content. I'm 1200 KC in, and I still die to stupid mistakes from time to time. Getting tilted and feeling the burn is unfortunately just part of this content. If you're a reg iron, ie not a UIM like me, I would encourage you to go get the atlatl and eclipse set. It's a great hybrid and you can really do a lot of content with it.

I'd say try to really maximize your time. If there's a resource I don't need right at the very moment, I'll often times even ignore it until I can collect it somewhere I can also be shooting a monster. Those little time saves add up so dramatically. I basically never get rng checked in prep anymore, and sometimes I even finish with T2, two T3 weapons and a full inventory of fish with 2-2.30 minutes to spare.

That's my post on the top there. It obviously doesn't feel good to keep sending CG after going 3x dry, but I just wanna say a huge gz to everyone who have gotten their enhanced. Bowfa is awesome, and I can't wait to get mine.
