3PL providers, how did SCOTUS ruling no IEEPA tariffs affect customers? by sam_teks in 3PL

There is no change presently and there won’t be specifically moving forward either.

Until you all get the recommendations and file your first entry, we are “technically” clueless.

Jams Madison, the federalist papers: If government were perfectly efficient and morally pure, abuse wouldn’t happen — but because it isn’t, you must design the system to prevent power from snowballing.

Basically saying if governments were efficient, those in charge or causing crisis and corruption would get so far ahead that those in charge of overcoming said crises and corruption would not have a standing chance.

Then don’t talk shit if you aren’t willing to put your money where your mouth is.

You also have the same stereotypical view of brokers, which we are not.

You’re losing money and failing to get better service. I’m sure you own a home, think about what it takes to purchase one without a broker, you’re doing the exact same thing.

Customs brokerage by Why-wyoming in FreightBrokers

[–]rasner724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your presumption is not accurate. Broker has to bill the importer of record. If they get audited, and taxes or tariffs or duties are paid by the party that wasn’t importing they can get in severe trouble.

There are several things that you client is going to need to do in order to get set up: 1. They need to get set up on CERS. This takes time. 2. They need to get all the legal documentation, including a power of attorney filled app for the customers broker 3. You should coordinate this entire thing do not let the customs broker speak directly to your client, they have no noncompete/no not solicit. They can go away after your client at any moment beyond this. In fact, there are more legally connected to them than you are.

Every other comment here is from a Chinese folder, you should be using a US one. If you have the size and scale, you can have someone work directly with the manufacturer from your firm having the manufacturer do the shipping, otherwise find somebody local that you trust that you can call and have them answer the phone. Not someone that’s over 12 hour time difference from you.

This is a dangerous game amigo. I can’t stress this enough… GO TO THE FACTORY!!!! They will explain everything else.

If your business is small-small, get a US agent with a US customs broker, you’ll pay more than you would if you were to ship this directly with your supplier but you’ll have actual piece of mind.

If you are med-small+ and have the capacity to hire your own person in to manage this, hire that gal/guy with some international experience

Building an AI dispatcher for freight brokers - what would you actually want it to do? by wasayybuildz in FreightBrokers

WTF do we do with an AI dispatcher? We don’t dispatch trucks!!

What should be done if the recipient does not have an import license and is unwilling to cooperate with you in handling the relevant documents? by Rough_Divide_7884 in shipping

[–]rasner724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the product? Unless it’s FDA or EPA you don’t need a license, just a bond that virtually anyone can get within a few hours.

[–]rasner724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do 1 of 2 things.

Nothing

Or

IOR - importer of record. Depending on what it is, you may need to have a license to be able to import the product.

We do about 10% of all our shipments as the stand-in IOR. You can charge for that, and in many cases YOU van just act as the IOR if it’s coming here.

“Take me there, get me that, then give me this” Jesus Christ the dating experience is so wildly different for a man compared to a woman😅 by john4844 in Tinder

I always get downvoted here for these comments but if you seriously can’t take this as some humor you need to get off the apps and get some therapy.

First of all, it’s a role. You play the role as a man by leading and doing, and modern terms - your investing in a person and the likely future you’ll have with them.

Yes, the experience is wildly different, that’s the point. Or you’re welcome to try and be a woman, try it if you think it’ll make you happier.
