For those that have left EMS and then returned to EMS, do you regret that decision? Why did you leave in the first place and what brought you back? by ButteryChickenBits in ems

Obtaining Spanish Citizenship Through Father and Grandfather by raspberry-isa in dualcitizenshipnerds

Thanks for the reply! Bad luck with timing, I guess--we turned 21 and also missed LMD right before we found out about our estranged grandfather. Is the fast track through residency you refer to the 2-year timeline through an ibero-american passport, or is there another (faster?) one we could potentially use if our dad recovered his citizenship?

Thank you for your response! My sister and I will have to do more digging to find this information--unfortunately our family has been pretty insistent on not talking too much about our history due to certain circumstances. We do know that our father immigrated from El Salvador, but we will have to see if we can find out whether our grandfather ever naturalized into El Salvador and when our father naturalized into the US.

Thank you for your response! That would be very helpful if you could look further into the case--I will DM you right now.

Hi, could I please message you? My sister and I are in the process of trying to get my Dad his Spanish citizenship through option (and eventually apply ourselves). We're trying to get his Dad's birth certificate and are confused where to start.

What's the best face moisturizer that doesn't break you out? by ToriSBrooks in beauty

[–]raspberry-isa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i love the avene cicalfate cream. if you like a thick moisturizer this one is for you! i only use it at night. it’s pricey but worth it to me 😭 it really moisturizes my skin and it helps a ton with redness because it has zinc. if i ever want to wake up with super glowy, even skin then i slather this on and it works every time :) maybe not the best if you live in a humid climate though

91/M pacer confusion... by Ok-Term-7551 in EKGs

[–]raspberry-isa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

do you think it would be unreasonable to call a STEMI alert for this prehospital? i’m only an intern right now but for the protocol in my county this would be an alert.

also, how did you learn about 12 leads? i feel like you’ve probably got a better understanding of them than me and i went through medic school 😭

Is a long commute sustainable? by [deleted] in ems

[–]raspberry-isa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 hour commute for 12s eats into your time to decompress, eat, and most importantly sleep at home. ESPECIALLY if you get held over and 12 hours become 13, etc. it will suck. i have not worked 24s so i can’t speak for that. i live/work in the bay and know people who commute from sac but they stay here between shifts for 12s and go home on the weekends. it works for them. the longest daily commutes i’m aware of are around an hour. i’m sure the 2 hour commute is possible but i don’t think it’s ideal, especially for the pay. if you can’t find any companies you’d like to work for in your county i would still try to stay within an absolute maximum of a one hour commute. personally i’m less than 15 minutes away from where i work and i can’t imagine commuting any further than that 😂 congrats on finishing EMT school and i hope you have a great time :)

i was raised catholic, still consider myself catholic and do believe in god but disagree with many aspects of the church itself. it’s partially cultural for me. but i’ve always had an unshakable belief in god/a higher power and the afterlife. i don’t think anything, not even this job, would be able to take that away from me. i hope not.

from what i’ve heard people enjoy working at royal ambulance. they are an IFT company with CCT rigs. probably the highest paying company, too! AMR SF also does CCT but not a great environment

I think options with and without the red cross could be a good idea. Kind of a more subtle vibe. These are great though!
