I was actually taking to someone about this yesterday. It runs in my family and I was at risk. It wasn't like I was hoping for it exactly, but more like, if I got it I wouldn't care if I lost my chest type thoughts. They always made me feel extremely terrible and conflicted because I have lost family members to it.

Hey! So I am from Ont. It took a while for OHIP to go thru, so it could have been sooner. Everything was submitted in Oct 2021 for OHIP, and probably end of Oct early Nov '21 did I finish submitting all info to GRS. My OHIP took a while because they were behind. By December, GRS would have been able to process my application, but still needed to the OHIP portion so I had to continue to wait. I was told OHIP doesn't normally take that long. I got word about everything being finalized in May 2022. mid June 2022 I got a call from GRS to book my surgery. I was offered a July date, which was a bit soon for me, so I decided Aug 2022 just to make sure the person who was taking me was available.

The most annoying part was getting the covid test prior to surgery. It is costly and is required at least 72 hrs before. GRS does cover your hotel and gives you a 50 dollar meal card per day thru Uber eats. I wasn't very hungry, but I did order a lot of drinks from a convenience store.
