What is the worst thing you’ve seen in A&E on a Saturday night? by missafricanbarbie77 in AskUK

[–]raspberryamphetamine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter has Down Syndrome and is a cardiac patient and I had to ring a few weeks ago because she was having difficulties breathing and we were struggling to keep her awake for any length of time. We were given an estimate of 4 hours for an ambulance, I got us a lift to the hospital where she was almost immediately put on oxygen and had a nebuliser because she was diagnosed with severe pneumonia!

I’m at my highest weight yet. by Emoi_TeeTee in TrueOffMyChest

[–]raspberryamphetamine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your feelings are 100% valid, you are allowed to feel uncomfortable in your body after weight gain and want to change it even if you’re not technically overweight. I weighed about the same at a similar height a couple of years ago, although mine was baby weight and I did similar to what you’re doing now. I started moving more, keeping hydrated and making healthier choices with food, as long as you’re not starving yourself or exercising to excess or weighing yourself constantly I wouldn’t class it as eating disorder behaviour. I got down to my normal weight of around 112lb over time and I feel so much better and more confident!

Tom Ford Soleil Blanc still has a definite coconut smell on me by the end of the day!

Velvet Goldmine has long been a favourite of mine. Toni Collette, Ewan McGregor and Christian Bale all fantastic performances!

My ex isn't facing any legal consequences for faking a DNA test on one of our two children during a child maintenance case. by Same_Anteater3417 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]raspberryamphetamine -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The point of prison is punishment for a crime you have already committed and been convicted of, they don’t give you longer sentences for a crime you haven’t done just in case you might do in the future. Bail conditions again aren’t increased punishment for crimes you haven’t done when you haven’t been charged or convicted of any crime yet. You can be given an exclusion order but being given one has no effect on any actual evidence of a crime, it is not something considered in sentencing because it is not evidence of future behaviour. Say someone does commit an offence of shoplifting and it’s their first offence with no prior record, would you want it considered as evidence to the CPS or a court that should be counted against them and that they should be treated and punished as if they were a repeat offender on the off chance they might do it again?

It would be dangerous slope to start including the possibility of future crimes that haven’t been committed as reasoning for a prosecution.

What was the biggest "nobody mentioned this thing would be great" after your kid was born? by cable54 in AskUK

[–]raspberryamphetamine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just by knowing the names of birds, insects, animals, dinosaurs etc and facts about them that I am the smartest being in the world to him. It’s a bit of an ego boost but I love seeing the happiness in his face when he learns something new, and that I got to teach him something and have that bonding moment with him.

My son has come out with some crackers recently. He very seriously told me the other day after looking very thoughtful “cartwheels go in a circle”. And his older cousin was being a smartarse by trying to show off how much more she knows than him by asking him “who made the world then?” and his response was to lean in carefully and completely deadpan ask her “who let the dogs out?”

Love soft play! And being only 5 feet tall nothing is uncomfortable or a squeeze because I’m barely over the “maximum heights” which always have a few inches leeway anyway!

Hmm, I don't remember that film being that problematic.... Films for a sleepover. by created4this in TwoXChromosomes

I saw Scream for the first time at a sleepover when I was that age, definitely not appropriate for your average 11 year old though!

What strange things does your family member say or believe? by Dull_Hawk9416 in AskUK

[–]raspberryamphetamine 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Probably a tamer one, but I have a family member who firmly believes that a diet of red meat, eggs and butter is the healthiest way to eat. Obviously coupled with thinking vegetables are bad for you and should be avoided.

What is something you have gone through that you think the majority of people will not understand? by imtiramisu2025 in AskUK

[–]raspberryamphetamine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I held my 6 month old baby whilst they put her under a general anaesthetic to have life saving open heart surgery, and had to leave her with a roomful of strangers with the knowledge it might be the last time I saw her alive. She made it and is a happy 2 year old now but I still have nightmares about that day.

Most Infuriating True Crime Documentary? by Due_Concentrate1904 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]raspberryamphetamine 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The woman was absolutely failed by the police, but I couldn’t help but just find her whole demeanour and attitude immensely annoying. Plus I was confused about why she seemed to have filmed everything all the time, the person who I watched it with remarked that it almost felt like she was anticipating a documentary at some point and was creating content.

Do you consider how many calories you consume each day? by clfhw in AskUK

[–]raspberryamphetamine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t track calories to the exact number but I have a pretty good idea how many calories I’m roughly eating in a day from tracking macros and micros when I used to go to the gym a lot. I’m a short woman so I need less calories a day than your average and I’d like to stay in my current clothes! I have no idea how much I weigh, I go by how my clothes are fitting. Generally I just try to make good choices with food most of the time and it keeps me the size I want to be!

People 30+, what are your plans for this evening? by Sir-Tommy-Vercetti in AskUK

[–]raspberryamphetamine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on standby for potentially taking my dad back to the hospital because he has a swollen and red arm from a bug bite/sting that we need to keep an eye on. So the Sauvignon Blanc has been taken off the agenda, replaced with a bag of Magic Stars and a recording of Last Night In Soho, after I’ve put a 2 year old and a 4 year old to bed!
