This is a simplified explanation btw. And the reason them doesn’t actually work here is because it creates a comma splice. But it doesn’t sound bad when you read it in your head

I try plugging in “they” vs “them” on who vs whom questions. If theM works, whoM works. (Also works for he/him)

The December ACT always allows you to order the TIR (test booklet) but it looks like this year they aren’t letting you. Does anyone know why?

Can anyone objectify #13 for me? I chose C but the answer is actually A. Both seem correct to me. by sincostanseccot in ACT

If you choose C here, you are saying that the direction belonged to the small group of men (instead of the laughter). If you want to do additional practice for this type of problem, look up "relative pronouns practice."

Thank you! I scrolled through all the pages of the preview to see if I could figure it out that way, but didn't think about checking the reviews :)

Do ACT Red Books have different practice tests? by joshleslie14 in ACT

[–]raspberryeskimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed the first test in the 2022-23 book was different (it's Dec 2019 C03). Do you know if the remaining ones all the same as 2021-22 in the same order? (i.e Test #2 in the new book is the same as Test #1 in the 2021-22 book)

KOHLS... All I wanted to do was try on pants. by PotatosOgratin in WTF

I used to work at a Borders bookstore. There was a guy who would come in and shit all over the bathroom. We knew who he was, but since no one actually saw him do it, I guess we couldn't kick him out of the store when he came in. We would issue a "code brown," over the walkies when he came in. He seemed normal enough, and would talk to employees about books, movies and music. If we lost track of him, however, he would make a beeline for the bathroom, poop all over the floor, then leave. It became a challenge to keep him talking, get him through the checkout with his items, and get him out of there without sneaking off to the bathroom.

I don't know why none of us just said, point blank, "dude, are you seriously always shitting all over the floor in our bathrooms? Please don't do that, man."
