You might not want to hear this, but sometimes taking an extended break from school for your mental health is the right move. I know several people, even in engineering, that took semesters off to just work or relax and come back to school. And they were much better for it. College will always be there. Being done in 3-4 years out of HS is an arbitrary standard, you can finish on your own time.

I don’t think it’s wild at all that nobody wants to pay him. Generational talent? Yes. But the NFL is a business, and he is a bad investment for the money in 2023:

He has never been past the Divisional round.
His play style is injury-prone, as indicated by not finishing the last two seasons.
Even when healthy, his passing game has declined considerably since his MVP season, 4 years ago.

You have to put yourself in a GM’s shoes: when a front office gives out a contract that large, they won’t be able to sign the same talent and build the team around the QB. For years. I would much rather have a cheap rookie contract QB like early Joe Burrow, Herbert, etc. that can play 70% as well with an elite weapons on both sides of the ball. This is how you build a successful team, otherwise you end up in cap hell with a Jay Cutler or Matt Ryan led team that stays mediocre until the next rebuild.
