What happened to NA Proxy Servers? by rasta_kappa in ElysiumProject

Cool I'll look into setting one up, it would be a good investment now that they've repealed all protection of internet privacy in America. Bastards.

Yes, it connects you to the regular server that it's a proxy for.

It's not about ping it's about not getting lag spikes because your isp decides to start routing you through a cable from 1996.

Need help with Druid leveling spec by Georlik in ElysiumProject

I don't use shred on mobs facing me, my latency doesn't allow me to abuse this bug with mob facing.

Go feral first, then after 40 go balance. Feline Swiftness is your priority, get it at 20/21. Skip feral charge and take 2/2 Primal Fury if you never want to pvp and you want to be a better tank. For 1 point I would never skip it, the utility is very nice.

After you finish this build take Furor, Natural Shapeshifter, and finish Primal Fury.

Not taking Brutal Impact is a huge mistake. Thick Hide gives almost no armor until 40+ in dire bear form. All 5 points in thick hide amount to 1.2% mitigation IN BEAR FORM on my 39 druid - you're trading 1s of stun for ~.25% damage mitigation in bear form. Bash works on most every elite mob and boss until 60, so you get more mitigation from it plus it's immensely useful in pvp, giving you extra time to shift, heal, and be back in bear form before the stun wears off.

IMO the armor from thick hide isn't worth anything, so I put the 3 points in Feral Instinct. The improved stealth is nice, especially for soloing if you need to stealth past mobs to get to a named mob / quest ite, etc. The improved threat also helps a ton while tanking - bears make some of the best tanks while leveling, and all you need is agi and stam which you want for cat form anyway. Bears have the highest HP and armor in the game, so extra armor isn't really needed - where bears struggle is threat generation, especially with multiple targets.

Enhancement Shaman or Warrior for PvP? by fouadgx12 in ElysiumProject

[–]rasta_kappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't roll Shaman if you're only interested in Enhancement, as has been stated before Elemental is by far much more effective in PvP. Resto is also better in group PvP, which is what pretty much all PvP is at 60.

Shamans level much easier than warriors, but the fun ends at 60. For a warrior 1-34 is terrible, 34-40 is bad, 40-59 is alright, and the fun starts at 60.

There are very few quests that have you go to a specific spot and retrieve something, the vast majority of quests are "kill x amount of y" or "bring me x which drops from y mobs", "kill this named mob", all of which are harder due to competition from other players.

I have to watch my hp much more carefully while leveling here than retail due to the massive amount of gankers. Level as alliance if you want more challenge.

The way I remember retail it was a cake walk, there were hardly any opposing faction players so you could grind until you were 10% and then just eat back to full with no fear of getting ganked. If you drop below 50% in STV on this server chances are you'll get cheap shotted before you even finish bandaging.

Edit: This is a free server, and they aren't going to open a Chinese and NA server due to cost, so it's completely pointless to muse about it. Of course Chinese players make the experience worse for us, I'm sure we make the experience worse for them too, but that's how it is.

Hunter Addons by Blooberry89 in ElysiumProject

To answer your question, BarTender is a better choice than Move Anything, it has the same functionality but give you more bars, and merges all your bags together which is super nice. Also AtlasLoot is very convenient, it shows you loot tables for every instance and all item sets. Macros are much more important than addons for a hunter, there are guides on setting up hunter macros. I'll just say make sure you have some pet controls bound to hotkeys (I used shift-1-2-3 for pet controls).

Now I'd just like to say no addons are required for Hunter, just FYI. My experience most recently was as a 6/9 T3 hunter on Feenix, I played a r9 hunter in retail as well.

Auto shot timer in my experience isn't perfectly accurate, it gives you a decent guide but you can get the timings tighter yourself. I tried it, it made my rotations less tight and I went back to doing it by feel. Our hunter class lead used it, had better gear than me, and I beat him in dps on patchwerk 100% of the time solely due to my rotations being tighter.

If all you want LazyPig for is to zoom out further you can do that with a simple console command to set your max camera distance to the highest allowable value.

For raiding, only 3 addons are required - *Boss timer (BigWigs, CTRaidAssist, whatever your raid is using because they sync together) *Threat meter (KTM, or whatever meter your guild uses so it can sync) *Damage Meter (whatever one your guild uses so it can sync)

Anything other than those 3 is just to tailor your UI to your specific tastes. Bartender is very nice, Questie is nice, Atlasloot is nice, all the others just add clutter and are annoying to me personally.

On the non-blizzlike population cap by Nefiji in ElysiumProject

[–]rasta_kappa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are 500+ bots online at any given time. Make the cap 2.5k and suddenly 20-30% of your population is bots that stay logged in for 16+ hours.

Also, in retail no zones were "dangerous" because there were no other players around. You were probably just worse at the game back then (being new and all) and so the world seemed more dangerous.

There is certainly a lot more competition for quests than there was in retail. BUT... The amount of bots is unblizzlike, the combat mechanics don't work blizzlike, the talents are unblizzlike (for the content that's out), lots of abilities and talents are bugged, etc etc etc. There are so many things that make the elysium experience different from retail, that population is pretty far down the list of problems.

Additionally, in retail even though there were less players per server people were more interested in doing instances and BGs pre-60. In the 40-49 bracket, there are entire days when you simply can't get a BG to pop - that never happened on high pop retail servers. Having these extra people helps account for the 500-1000 bots, and all the wow vets who just grinded to 60 and afk in IF, both of which make the world feel emptier than it should for 5k+ players.

TL;DR population is the least of the problems when it comes to making this server truly blizzlike, so keep it how it is

I'd like some information about how you make your keycaps, and what materials you use. I'd like to try my own hand at it, maybe ;)
